The Blue African Prince (l.chisumulae) inhabits the sedimentary rocky area of the waters near chizumulu Island and behaves in the same way as the African Prince. In Mozambique's mbweca and tumbi, there is also a species between the African prince (l.caeruleus) and the blue African prince (l.chisumulae), which is called "l.sp." chisumulae mbweca”。 The existence of this species means that there is a close relationship between the African prince (l.caeruleus) and the blue African prince (l.chisumulae).

The Blue African Prince (l.chisumulae) is an alluring small rocky habitat worth raising for every aquarist. However, it is often lost to its more popular and well-known cousin, the african prince with a bright yellow body color (labidochromis caeruleus), which is a bit regrettable. Because this pearl in the big lake is one of the few rock habitats that can be raised in small aquariums.

The Blue African Prince (l.chisumulae) is found in sedimentary rock areas in the waters near chizumulu island. They often dig alone between rocks and burrows, looking for small insects and other invertebrates. It eats in the same way as the african prince (labidochromis caeruleus), both of which are classified as carnivorous rocky species. This suggests that not all rocky habitats were previously generally considered vegetarians.

Male adult fish of the blue African prince (l.chisumulae) can grow to about 10 cm, which is larger than the female. Females and sub-adults have a very beautiful pearlescent white base color, which is reflected by a blue-purple stripe that extends towards the head. Male adults have very rich horizontal stripes that extend from the eyes to two-thirds of the lower part of the body. The dorsal fin is almost black, and after mixing with the horizontal stripes, it gradually turns purple along the abdomen. The front runs through the eye stripes and extends all the way to the cheeks. The intensity of the color depends entirely on the mood and its place in the aquarium.

The breeding conditions of the Blue African Prince (l.chisumulae) are not very demanding, making it ideal for entry-level novices. Can be reared in a 30-gallon aquarium. Of course, the larger the aquarium, the better. Aquariums can be decorated with some rocks, small caverns can be set up to induce their natural habits, and they can also serve as shelters in the event of an attack. The ratio of one male fish to more than two females is the best, so that the female will not be kept in hot air by the male in heat. The Blue African Prince (l.chisumulae) is easy to breed in aquariums, in a manner no different from ordinary oral incubators. Depending on the age and size of the motherfish, 5 to 20 juveniles are generally spat out after 18 to 28 days.

Ordinary dry feed supplemented with some live or frozen food (e.g. shrimp, flea, shrimp in good years) is a very good feed. While in the wild they also occasionally eat something plant-based, the Blue African Prince (l.chisumulae) is not a vegetarian. If you add some spirulina flakes to your food, it is very beneficial for the health of the fish and the color of your hair. The Blue African Prince (l.chisumulae) is a very mild rocky habitat that cannot be polycultured with some large or very aggressive fish species. Most small and medium-sized rocky habitats can be their polyculture partners. As long as temperament, body size and diet allow, the blue African prince (l.chisumulae) can also be polycultured with peacocks and small and medium-sized hap.
