In China, there is also a Phoenix City, whose name has nothing to do with the phoenix, but its past and present are completely the symbol of the phoenix nirvana, that is, Tangshan.
Tangshan is named after the Dacheng Mountain in the northern part of the city, and according to legend, Tang Li Siyuan once had a soldier here, and in order to commemorate the meritorious general Jiang who killed Jiao, benshan was named after Tang. This is also a rare city named after a dynasty in Chinese place names. Many people know Tangshan, and it all began to shake the mountain 44 years ago. In 23 seconds, more than 242,000 people were killed, and more than 164,000 people were seriously injured.... This has become an eternal pain in the hearts of Tangshan people. And after the pain and sorrow, it is the spirit of perseverance and nirvana rebirth.
This was the first time I set foot on the land of Tangshan, and it was also the first time I met Nanhu. I always thought that Tangshan was a traditional heavy industrial city, and there was no fresh air at all, and the environment was beautiful, until I met Nanhu Lake. The South Lake is to Tangshan, just like the West Lake is to Hangzhou, and the Slender West Lake is to Yangzhou. It is very coincidental that this is the place where the 2016 World Garden Fair was held, and the 2021 World Garden Fair was held in our Yangzhou Yizheng. So, this landscape has a deeper meaning for me.
Turn weaknesses into strengths, and decay into magic. The entire history of Nanhu seems to be the epitome of the development of Tangshan. After more than 100 years of coal mining in the former Kailuan mining area, the surface of the earth began to collapse and sink continuously. For a time, it was inaccessible and overgrown. Look at the South Lake after the re-improvement and planning, blue sky, white clouds, green areas, forests, natural ecological environment, there are mountains and water, not Jiangnan, better than Jiangnan. Like the city, The South Lake was reborn.
In addition to the mirror-like lake surface that is twice as large as the West Lake, the biggest feature of the South Lake is that of a dragon and a phoenix. The dragon refers to the Longshan Pavilion that can be seen from the top of the picture, and the phoenix is the Danfeng Chaoyang located in the center of the scenic spot. Located at the top of Longshan Mountain, Lungshan Pavilion was a landmark building of the World Horticultural Exposition. The shape is modeled after the "Baojin Building" by the Yuan Dynasty painter Wang Zhenpeng, which has a unique ancient rhyme and Tang style.
At this time, Tangshan has entered autumn, and the sky is high and cloudy. As the sun sets, golden sunlight shines through the tall buildings in the distance on the Yongsan Pavilion, dyeing the entire attic golden. The distant clouds are also dyed orange, reflecting the turquoise waters of the lake, as pleasing as an oil painting.
Longshan Pavilion is not only the highest point of the entire scenic spot, but also the best viewing point overlooking the Danfeng Chaoyang. A giant sculpture stands on the square by the lake. What is more interesting is that the so-called Danfeng Chaoyang is not just this pillar that symbolizes auspicious happiness and bright future, but the entire square and building complex behind it are the real subjects. The whole phoenix is decorated with the Danfeng Chaoyang sculpture as the phoenix, the two wings of the Tangshan Planning Exhibition Hall as the phoenix wings, and the phoenix feathers of the First Gate as the phoenix tail. It may not be very clear to see during the day, but at night, when the lights first come on, the golden body, colorful wings and tail, and green feathers make people feel that this phoenix is about to fly high.
Every night at 8 o'clock, people will gather on Danfeng Chaoyang Square, facing the South Lake, sitting on the stairs and waiting for the gorgeous large-scale light and shadow water dance show to be staged. The light and shadow water dance show is the perfect combination of the musical fountain and the light show, the undulating fountain is accompanied by shocking music dancing with the wind, and the light and shadow are projected on the water curtain formed by the fountain, changing various shapes.
