During the Qing Dynasty, our capital was Beijing, and the emperor was in the Forbidden City in Beijing. The emperor is "sitting north facing south", "the south is called lonely", then for Chengdu, the north is where the emperor is located. Therefore, the north gate of Chengdu, the civil and military officials from the central government, and the emperor's holy will, all came in from this gate. The music and tribute to the emperor also went out from this door. And any holy will that the emperor gives to his subordinates is "heavenly grace." Therefore, the north gate is the gate to greet the emperor's "Heavenly Grace", so it is called "Ying'en".
After the wars of the late Ming and early Qing dynasties, the city of Chengdu was in ruins at that time. After the political situation stabilized, the Qing government began to rebuild the city of Chengdu. The reconstruction began at the North Gate.
After the reconstruction, the north gate is much hotter than the three southeast and west gates. A lot of important shops, all on the north gate. On both sides of the North Gate Bridge, on both sides of the Fu River, there used to be seven or eight large markets, the largest of which was the timber market. There was a lot of wood piled up at the door of every house, and there was also a lot of piles on the dam along the river.
Later, the Beimen Bridge gathered a lot of chengdu's famous food, teacher and friend noodles, Linjiang Building, husband and wife lung tablets. Nowadays, with the passage of time, it is still one of the first places for Chengdu people to go to nightlife.
