Li Youbang (1906-1952), a native of Taipei. In 1918, he was admitted to taipei normal school, during which time he joined the Taiwan Cultural Association led by Jiang Weishui and actively participated in anti-Japanese activities.
In 1924, Li Youbang came to the mainland to be admitted to the second phase of the Whampoa Military Academy. After the outbreak of the All-out War of Resistance, Li Youbang united with his compatriots in the land and threw himself wholeheartedly into the War of Resistance. After the formation of the Taiwan Volunteer Brigade and the Taiwan Youth League in Zhejiang, Li Youbang was appointed by the Nationalist government as the captain of the Taiwan Volunteer Brigade, and later the team was expanded to the Taiwan Volunteer Brigade, and Li Youbang was promoted to lieutenant general. The headquarters has four detachments, covering the front line, rear, enemy lines and occupied areas, mainly engaged in intelligence gathering, armed raids, translation and propaganda, dismantling of enemy troops, medical assistance and production to serve the country. In terms of medical assistance, three Taiwan hospitals in Jinhua, Quxian and Lanxi were set up in Zhejiang, and the production of the country assisted the local government in establishing a camphor manufacturing plant and a pharmaceutical production cooperative.
In 1945, after the victory of the National War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, Taiwan was restored, Li Youbang's wish was realized, and the members of the Taiwan Volunteer Brigade returned to Taiwan.
