Recently, Baidu, which has frequent high-level changes, has welcomed a group vice president and two vice presidents.
On May 19, Baidu announced that it had promoted Li Ying to vice president of Baidu Group, and she would continue to serve as the chief information officer (cio) and general manager of the map business unit of Baidu Group, and continue to report to cto Wang Haifeng.
According to Baidu, Li Ying is a leading figure who grew up in Baidu. She began her internship at Baidu in 2003, officially joined Baidu after graduating in 2004, and has led Baidu natural language processing, web search relevance, spider, Internet data research and development, composite search, recommendation and personalization, knowledge graph, AI technology ecology and other businesses. During her time at Baidu, Li Ying completed the growth from a front-line engineer to a technical manager, to the general manager of the business department and cio.
Baidu said that Li Ying is a practitioner and disseminator of Baidu's "simple and reliable" cultural values, and looks forward to her continuing to work hard, leading the team to continue to climb and contribute to the great mission of "making the complex world simpler with science and technology".
It is understood that Li Ying took over the Baidu Map business in March 2018, leading Baidu Maps to achieve an intelligent upgrade from traditional Internet maps to a new generation of artificial intelligence maps. In February 2020, after Li Ying became the chief information officer (cio) of Baidu, she quickly formulated a strategy and built a team, relying on Baidu AI middle office and knowledge middle platform, to create a new generation of intelligent office platform "Ruliu" and increase the construction of enterprise intelligent management system.
At present, Baidu Map's data collection link has achieved 80% AI collection, and the production efficiency has increased by more than 30 times. Combined with deep learning algorithms, the industry's first intelligent positioning function in weak GPS scenarios and intelligent estimation of future travel time make navigation more accurate. At the interactive level, the immersive intelligent tourism experience such as ar tour guide, ar Yuanmingyuan water method restoration, ar Taishan stone monument puzzle solving has made breakthroughs in many industries; the cumulative number of intelligent voice users has exceeded 300 million, ranking in the leading position in the industry, and released the world's first map voice customization product, with nearly 20 million customized voice package downloads in half a year. In addition, Baidu Map is based on the poi high-precision knowledge map, supported by rich content such as panoramas and short videos, and closed-loop the map mini program as a service, comprehensively improving the richness of map data content.
According to the data, as of December 2019, Baidu Maps has more than 120 billion daily location service requests and served more than 500,000 mobile applications, covering more than 200 countries and regions around the world.
In addition, after the departure of Baidu vice president, Baidu intelligent cloud head Yin Shiming and deputy general manager Zhang Zhiqi in April this year, Baidu released a message on May 11 that intelligent cloud has recently added two vice presidents and two directors responsible for pre-sales solutions.
The two vice presidents are Liu Yawen and Zhu Yali.
With 13 years of experience in large central enterprises and a former executive of Fortune 500 companies, Yawen Liu has rich experience and insight into enterprise digital transformation and government relations, and is currently the general manager of Baidu's intelligent cloud smart government business unit.
Zhu Yali has worked in Accenture, Deloitte, Cisco, Guanglianda and other well-known Chinese and foreign enterprises, and has rich professional knowledge and industry experience in the consulting and high-tech industries, responsible for Baidu's intelligent cloud strategic planning, business operations, sales management and product management.
At present, Li Ying, Liu Yawen and Zhu Yali are all reporting to Baidu cto Wang Haifeng.
It is worth noting that in May this year, some media reported that Chu Yu, senior vice president of Baidu, had left his job and was still in the probation period when he left. Chu Yu, a former vice president of Alibaba Group, joined Baidu in January this year, responsible for government relations and marketing public relations. As for whether Chu Yu has left his job, as of press time, Baidu has not responded.
