The Seven Wonders of Ancient Western Construction

1. The Pyramid of Khufu is the largest pyramid in ancient Egypt. The tower is 146.59 meters high, due to age weathering, the top has been peeled off by 10 meters, and it is now 136.5 meters high, equivalent to the height of a 40-storey building. The stone weighed between 1.5 and 50 tons, and the total weight of the tower was about 6.84 million tons.

2. The Hanging Gardens, also known as the Hanging Garden, were built in the 6th century BC by Nebuchadnezzar II near the city of Babylon for his homesick princess Amyitis. It is said that the Hanging Gardens adopt a three-dimensional gardening technique, placing the garden on a four-story platform, which looks like a garden hanging in mid-air from a distance, hence the name Hanging Gardens. The ruins are now located in Nineveh (present-day northern Iraq)

3. The Temple of Artemis, the temple of the goddess Artemis in Greek mythology, was burned down by Theodes of Hermites on July 21, 356 BC. Only one pillar remains of the temple. The ruins of this temple are located on the Ionian Riviera in present-day Turkey.

4. The Olympian statue of Zeus, built by Phidias around 457 BC, the temple of Zeus where the statue of Zeus is located is the birthplace of the Olympic Games. It was the religious center of ancient Greece, located southeast of the Acropolis of Athens, Greece, next to the Olympia Gymnasium of the Alice city-state.

5. The Mausoleum of Mossolas, located in Halicarnassus, southwest of Turkey, was built around 353 BC and destroyed in the early 15th century when Khalicanasus was invaded. In order to build a huge castle, the new rulers used some of the stones from the Mausoleum of Mossolas as building materials in 1494. In addition to its architecture, the mausoleum is famous for its sculptures, which were made by four famous sculptors, Bryaxis, Leochares, Scopas, and Timotheus.

6. Rhodes Colossus of the Sun God, built at the entrance to the port of Rhodes, completed in 282 BC. It was destroyed during an earthquake in 226 BC. The image is of a bronze giant holding a torch in his hand and stepping on both sides of the strait. The torch he holds in his hand acts as a beacon, day and night, to guide passing ships.

7. Alexander Lighthouse, the site is on faros Island on the edge of Alexandria, Egypt. The lighthouse was built around 280-278 BC, but was severely damaged by two earthquakes in 1303 and 1332.

In addition to these seven wonders, there are other ancient buildings that are also more impressive, called the eighth wonder, such as the Great Wall of China, the Terracotta Warriors and Horses of qinling, the Taj Mahal in India, Angkor Wat in Cambodia, and the Colosseum in Italy. They have added a lot of mystery to human culture and witnessed the rise and fall of a country.
