
Zhu Shoudao, whose ancestral home is Quanzhou, Fujian Province, graduated from the Department of Chinese of Xiamen University in 1982, successively worked in the Ministry of Education and the Propaganda Department of the CPC Central Committee, is currently a cadre at the level of director general of the National People's Congress, concurrently serves as a director of the fourth, fifth and sixth sessions of the Chinese Calligraphers Association, a researcher of the Calligraphy and Painting Institute of the Central Museum of Literature and History, a member of the International Exchange Committee of the China Book Association, a director of the Chinese Popular Literature Society, the vice president of the Beijing Sino-Korean Calligraphy and Painting Association, the vice president of the Beijing Celebrity Calligraphy and Painting Academy, and the editor-in-chief of the Celebrity Famous Calligraphy and Painting Newspaper. In September 2008, his calligraphy work returned after a 68-hour space flight on the "Shenzhou 7" manned spacecraft, and the work is in the national collection. CCTV, Beijing Television, People's Daily, Guangming Daily, China Talents, People's Daily and other mainstream media and professional newspapers and periodicals introduced his calligraphy art.
The calligraphy works have been collected by the Great Hall of the People, Chairman Mao's Memorial Hall, Zhongnanhai, Deng Xiaoping's Former Residence, National Art Museum of China, Diaoyutai State Guesthouse, Xi'an Forest of Steles Museum, National Olympic Stadium (Bird's Nest); inscribed plaques for Badaling National Forest Park, Putuo Mountain, Penglai Pavilion, Mingsha Mountain, Jigong Living Buddha's Hometown "Yongning Village" and other places of interest and monuments; selected to be selected into the Zhonghua Han Garden, Wuyi Mountain, Yellow River, Holy Spring, Hanzhong, Lushan, Xibaipo and other stele forests.
He is the author of "History of Chinese Calligraphy", and has published "Zhu Shoudao Calligraphy Works", "Zhu Shoudao Calligraphy Art" and so on. He was named the first batch of "Virtue and Art Shuangxin" calligraphers in China, and was awarded the title of "Advanced Individual" by the Chinese Calligraphers Association in 2007, 2009, 2010 and 2011.
