Chutian Metropolis Daily, November 8 (Reporter Guo Huiqiao, He Jun, correspondent Wang Wenying) This afternoon, Huang Huan, winner of the "Planning Excellence Award," the world's highest award in the field of urban planning and the chief planner of the Zhongshan Avenue Neighborhood Revitalization Planning, returned to his alma mater, the Wuhan Experimental School. When communicating with more than 100 students in the audience, he suggested that high school students, especially art students, may wish to visit art galleries and watch more art exhibitions to enhance their artistic literacy.

It is understood that Wuhan Experimental School was founded in 1945 and was originally a school directly under the Wuhan Municipal Education Bureau. In 1992, Huang Huan graduated from Wuhan Experimental School, was admitted to Wuhan Urban Construction College with a bachelor's degree in urban planning, and after graduating with a master's degree in urban planning and design from Huazhong University of Science and Technology, he was a visiting scholar at the University of Illinois. Now working in the Wuhan land planning system, he is an expert and a professor-level senior planner who enjoys special government allowances from the State Council.
Previously, he served as the chief planner in the revitalization planning and transformation of the Zhongshan Avenue block, and was internationally recognized for his concepts such as slow traffic, protection of old buildings, and preservation of the authenticity of the community, and won the "Planning Excellence Award", the world's highest award in the field of urban planning. In September 2016, Huang Huan went to South Africa as a representative to receive the award.

In Huang Huan's view, many students in China cannot understand art, which is not the fault of students, "Parents pay too much attention to mathematics, physics and chemistry, and do not attach much importance to art, while the former is stage education, the latter is lifelong education." Talking about the artistic cultivation of children, he said, "Usually when you have free time, you may wish to go to the art museum and feel the art works face to face, regardless of whether you are engaged in art work in the future, which can broaden your horizons and is of great benefit to improving aesthetic taste and personal quality." He also advised parents to develop the habit of taking their children to see art exhibitions on weekends and holidays. He said that children do not have to instill too much artistic knowledge, let them see with their eyes, feel for themselves, image memory is always the most ingrained, and it will definitely be useful for a long time. Adults, like children, should also go to museums and art galleries to see, and slowly have a good artistic influence.
Subsequently, Qiu Huaming, president of Wuhan Experimental School, also presented Huang Huan with the "Honorary Certificate of Outstanding Alumni".
