Wang Dazhong is an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, a nuclear energy scientist, and a former president of Tsinghua University, aged 86.

The general projects in the first prize are distributed in the fields of indirect coal liquefaction, industrial flue gas treatment, flexible materials, high-precision remote sensing, electronic packaging, medical imaging, construction engineering, genetic rice and other fields.
