According to Hong Kong media reports, Shi Tian, one of the founders of New Art City Pictures, which dominated the Hong Kong film scene in the 1980s and created countless classic films, died in September this year at the age of 72. Hong Kong filmmaker Huang Baiming said Shi Tian's son Dickson confirmed the death of his father Shi Tian. It is reported that Shi Tian's last wish is to deal with the affairs behind his back in a low-key manner, so his family did not disclose too much news to the outside world.

Shi Tian, whose real name is Liu Weicheng, was born in Beijing on October 17, 1950. Shi Tian, who is also an actor, director and producer, joined Shaw's Southern Experimental Theater Troupe as a student in the 1960s, until he officially joined Shaw as an actor, and has performed in films such as "Youth Love" and "Little Fire Star". After leaving Shaw, he co-starred with Xu Guanjie in "Ghost Horse Double Star" and "Genius and Idiot", and also participated in "Drunken Fist" and "Hero Nature 2".

In the 1980s, he formed the New Art City Film Company with Mai Jia, Huang Baiming, Zeng Zhiwei, Teddy Robin, Xu Ke and Shi Nansheng, and successfully launched a series of acclaimed and popular movies, which became popular with Chow Yun Fat, Wang Zuxian and other big names, and 7 people were also known as the "Seven Monsters of New Art City".

Huang Baiming revealed that Shi Tian had suffered from cancer for many years, during which he was cured for a while, and recently recurred. On September 7, he also contacted Shi Tian by text message, only to learn that the other party was admitted to the hospital, and Shi Tian was still about to drink tea together after being discharged from the hospital.
