Ruan Lingyu (1910-1935), formerly known as Ruan Fenggen, was born in Shanghai, with her ancestral home in Zuobutou Township, Nanyi, Xiangshan County, Guangdong Province (now Zuobu Village, Nanlang Town, Zhongshan City), Chinese mainland actress, graduated from Shanghai Chongde Girls' High School.
In 1917, Ruan Lingyu's mother worked as a maid in a large family in Shanghai surnamed Zhang.
In 1918, Ruan Lingyu's mother sent her to a private school near the Zhang family and had a scientific name "Ruan Yuying".
In 1919, Ruan Lingyu's mother asked her to serve the Zhang family (the Zhang family was the trustee of the Chongde Girls' School) to let Ruan Lingyu enter the Chongde Girls' School founded by American missionaries at half the price of tuition. Later, Ruan Lingyu voluntarily dropped out of school and left Chongde Girls' School.
In 1926, through the introduction of Zhang Huichong, he entered the star film company and starred in his first film "Nominal Couple", thus starting his acting career.
Family status
Ruan Lingyu's father, Ruan Yongrong, was a worker at the Asia Asia Oil Stack in Pudong, Shanghai. In 1916, when Nguyen Ling Ngoc was 6 years old, Nguyen Yong Vinh died of tuberculosis due to overwork. She also adopted an abandoned girl named Zhang Miaorong, nicknamed Xiaoyu.

In 1926, Ruan Lingyu began to embark on the road of the shadow; because Zhang Damin had no survival skills after leaving home, he began to blackmail Ruan Lingyu, who was slowly emerging.
In 1932, the "1.28 Incident" broke out, Ruan Lingyu went to Hong Kong to escape the war, and met Tang Jishan, a wealthy businessman in the tea business, at a social occasion. Later, after returning to Shanghai, Ruan Lingyu left Zhang Damin and moved to a small three-story Western-style building that Tang Jishan bought on Xinzha Road and began to live with him. Subsequently, Zhang Damin blackmailed Ruan Lingyu and Tang Jishan and sued them together in court. Then, Ruan Lingyu discovered that Tang Jishan had a new girlfriend, Liang Saizhen. From then on, Tang Jishan began to scold Ruan Lingyu.
In 1934, when starring in the movie "New Woman", the relationship with director Cai Chusheng slowly approached. Later, Cai Chusheng, who had an original wife in the countryside, was worried about his family and reputation, and finally did not choose to be with Ruan Lingyu.
The fall of a giant star
On March 8, 1935, Ruan Lingyu wrote two suicide notes and committed suicide by wearing 3 bottles of 30 sleeping pills in her residential clothes in Qinyuan Village, Xinzha Road, Shanghai. Ms. Nguyen Ling Ngoc's life is full of ups and downs and full of legends, she lost her father at an early age, and she lacked fatherly love in her heart.
