(The Woman Who Told History – Issue 1730)
Liu Shaoqi Cultural Relics Museum is located in HuamingLou, Ningxiang County, Hunan Province, and is an important part of Liu Shaoqi Memorial Hall. The museum mainly collects some important cultural relics of Liu Shaoqi and Wang Guangmei, as well as calligraphy and painting artworks, as well as books and other materials. Among these cultural relics, two of them have a long history, they are bronze chimes of the Western Zhou Dynasty unearthed in Fengmuqiao Township, Ningxiang County, numbered 0103 and 0792 respectively, the volume is large and small, a total of about fifty pounds, one is a national second-level cultural relics, one is a national third-level cultural relics.

However, Liu Shaoqi Cultural Relics Museum these 2 extremely valuable cultural relics were stolen, the time is March 29, 1999 night, the means of the crime is relatively rare, of course, this rare is not to say how clever he is, but traditional and stupid, a bit of "flying cornices to the wall" meaning. The specifics are described in detail below.
It is said that after the cultural relics were stolen, the staff of the cultural relics museum immediately reported the case at 20:25 on March 29, and after receiving the report, the Ningxiang County Public Security Bureau realized that the situation was serious and quickly reported it.
Tang Zhongyuan, deputy director of the Hunan Provincial Public Security Department who received the news at that time, was very shocked and angry, and immediately sent Yang Bingquan, deputy captain of the criminal police column, to the Liu Shaoqi Cultural Relics Museum to investigate the case with all his strength and as soon as possible.
After receiving the order, Yang Bingquan did not dare to be slack in the slightest, immediately got up, and rushed to the Liu Shaoqi Cultural Relics Museum at 24 o'clock that night. At that time, relevant comrades at the city and county levels had already gathered there, such as Liang Jianqiang, Cheng Zaihua and others.
After Yang Bingquan arrived, under the leadership of everyone, he conducted a careful investigation of the scene and found a pair of rope ladders hanging from the north corner beam and pillar on the west side of the Liu Shaoqi Cultural Relics Museum, with a length of 9.3 meters. This rope ladder is obviously artificial, extremely rough, made of white and red nylon rope and mixed wooden sticks, as well as iron wire. The third bar on the sliding door of the museum near the lock was cut. Then, entering the cultural relics museum, I found that the glass cabinets preserving the two Western Zhou cultural relics numbered 0103 and 0792 were broken.
Faced with this situation at the scene, Yang Bingquan and everyone did not have the slightest drowsiness and began to analyze the case of this extraordinarily large cultural relics theft case overnight. Finally, after analysis, they preliminarily determined that the thief had three characteristics:
The first feature is that it is extremely familiar with the surrounding environment of the Liu Shaoqi Cultural Relics Museum, and it is even likely that it is possible to live nearby;
The second feature is that the target of the thief is so clear, the direct hand is two Western Zhou bronzes, then it means that the thief has dealt with the cultural relics, has a certain understanding of the cultural relics, and covets the two cultural relics in the cultural relics museum may have been for a while;
The third feature is that three people should commit the crime, two people enter the scene, and one person picks up nearby.
After having the direction, the next step is to take the Liu Shaoqi Memorial Hall as the center, conduct a secret investigation of the 37 key villages around it, and radiate out to Changsha and other places farther away. The people in the preliminary investigation were mainly those who had experience in tomb robbery, smuggling, purchase and trafficking in cultural relics over the years.
When the investigators went all out to investigate, Yang Bingquan was not idle, he returned to the scene where the cultural relics were stolen, opened the case file related to the cultural relics to check for himself, and at the same time analyzed, identified and screened the list of suspects sent back by various investigators. Finally, from the list of 50 suspects sent back by various investigators, he circled a person named Liu Wensheng, who lived in No. 16, Nantang Group, Shuangshiling Village, Huaminglou Town. What was surprising was that this Liu Wensheng family was only five hundred meters away from the Liu Shaoqi Cultural Relics Museum.
Liu Wensheng has three major suspicions:
The first point is that Liu Wensheng had stolen the tomb before;
The second point is that Liu Wensheng has previously overstayed the cultural relics and antiques business;
The third point is that before the western Zhou chimes were stolen, someone once saw Liu Wensheng wandering around the Liu Shaoqi Cultural Relics Museum, and he also entered the cultural relics museum several times.
With these three points in mind, Yang Bingquan ordered the investigators to focus on Liu Wensheng's investigation. After investigation, three clues were found:
The first clue is that Liu Wensheng did tell people that the two cultural relics in the Liu Shaoqi Cultural Relics Museum were worth millions of yuan, and said that he had stepped on them a little better.
The second clue was that Liu Wensheng had a close friend who ran a tricycle rental business, and Liu Wensheng had invited him to steal the two cultural relics together, but was refused. Later, Liu Wensheng took a person and borrowed a 125 motorcycle and a green raincoat from the neighbor of the owner's friend Zhu on the 28th. The return date is around 9:00 on the 30th.
The third clue is that, based on the answers given by the first two clues, Yang Bingquan immediately led people to surround Liu Wensheng's home, although he did not catch Liu Wensheng, but met Liu Wensheng's parents. Her father was a secondary school teacher and her mother was a simple rural woman. After the old two told, after learning that Liu Wensheng failed in the college entrance examination, he has been fooling around in society, and the old two have bitter words in their hearts, and they are even more powerless to discipline.
Although there are many clues, Liu Wensheng was not caught, and the case was always in an unsolved state. After careful analysis, Yang Bingquan believed that Liu Wensheng had already succeeded, and the cultural relics in his hands were bound to be uneasy, and he was definitely trying to do so at present. Therefore, three groups were set up, which went to three nearby places to focus on the cultural relics market.
Soon, sure enough, there were new clues. The head of one of the investigation teams was Zhao Dingshan, deputy director of the Ningxiang County Public Security Bureau (the level of handling cases was very high, and he was praised as a detective). He went to Xiaoxiang Nightclub in plain clothes, where he found a special person named He Da block. This person has done cultural relics business, and according to the information and portraits, the person who borrowed the motorcycle with Liu Wensheng on the 28th may be the same person, that is to say, this person may be Liu Wensheng's accomplice.
After Zhao Dingshan sent the information back, the investigators immediately went to investigate this He Block, and finally after many systematic investigations, they did not find the name He Block, but found a person named He Rusheng, and He Block may be a person. The family lives in Horticultural Village, Tuanjiang Town, Xiangxiang City, and is 42 years old. In his personal files, there are also cases of doing cultural relics business.
At about 11:00 a.m. on April 5, investigators arrested He Rusheng and found the same nylon rope in his home as the scene of the theft of cultural relics.
He Rusheng's arrest was a major breakthrough for the case, and Yang Bingquan and others were very happy and immediately interrogated He Rusheng, after all, they were afraid of the long night and many dreams, lest important cultural relics flow into the market.
At first, He Rusheng stubbornly resisted and did not say anything, but he could not stand the interrogation of the investigators, and finally He Rusheng confessed!
In He Rusheng's confession, we learned of the other two members of the four-person gang, one of whom was named Fu Gongxiang and the other was named Fu Xiangyang. This Fu Gongxiang is a 29-year-old from Shishi Village, Hutian Town, Xiangxiang City, and his family conditions are very bad, and it is difficult to marry a wife. However, under the mediation of He Rusheng, Fu Gongxiang married a wife and established a family. Therefore, in Fu Gongxiang's heart, He Rusheng was his benefactor, so he would carry gifts to see He Rusheng every New Year's Festival.
It is precisely because of this kind relationship that when Liu Wensheng and Fu Xiangyang found He Rusheng and said that they were going to make a big deal, He Rusheng heard that the money earned could not be completed in his lifetime, so he asked to participate. But Liu Wensheng said:
"It's not enough to have you, you need a reliable person!"
It was under such circumstances that He Rusheng almost without thinking about it, he pushed Fu Gongxiang out, because he thought that he had been kind to Fu Gongxiang and let him do it himself, and he had no reason to retreat. But he didn't know that it was his idea that dragged Fu Gongxiang into the road of no return.
Liu Wensheng felt very satisfied after learning about the relationship between He Rusheng and Fu Gongxiang. Then on March 24, Liu Wensheng, Fu Xiangyang, and He Rusheng came to see Fu Gongxiang and detailed the crime plan. The next day, the 25th, the four of them began preparations for the crime.
According to Liu Wensheng's familiarity and understanding of the cultural relics museum, he made careful arrangements. First, he Rusheng and the other three people around the cultural relics museum to introduce the geographical environment, and then Liu Wensheng bought four tickets and took them into the third exhibition room of the cultural relics museum, hinting at the two cultural relics they were going to do, namely the Western Zhou chimes (No. 0103 and No. 0792).
After leaving the museum, Liu Wensheng and four other people agreed on the method of theft at He Rusheng's home, and made rope ladders with nylon rope and miscellaneous wood.
Then on the 28th, they got into action.
At 18:00 on the same day, when the staff of the cultural relics museum went to dinner, Liu Wensheng asked Fu Gongxiang and Fu Xiangyang to climb to the large camphor tree behind the cultural relics museum, which is close to the back eaves of the cultural relics museum, and can be climbed to the roof of the cultural relics museum by means of camphor branches, and then enter the cultural relics museum from the roof.
However, according to the plan that day, Fu Gongxiang and Fu Xiangyang climbed up the camphor tree and came to the roof of the cultural relics museum, Fu Xiangyang decided not to do this because of excessive nervousness and his legs were trembling. Fu Gongxiang saw that Fu Xiangyang did not do it, and he did not do it, so the two returned the same way.
At this point, Fu Xiangyang was unexpectedly out! But he was blessed with misfortune!
It is said that during the interrogation of He Rusheng, when he learned that there was also Fu Gongxiang, the investigators went to the coal mine where he worked and successfully arrested him. After that, according to the confessions of He Rusheng and Fu Gongxiang, the basic situation is as follows:
After the failure of the first theft, liu Wensheng, the mastermind of the theft, was not dead-hearted, and he found Fu Gongxiang again on the night of the 28th, lobbied, and promised to pay him 30,000 yuan as long as Fu Gongxiang helped to take things out. Fu Gongxiang was tempted by the reward of 30,000 yuan and agreed to Liu Wensheng.
In this way, at 18:00 on the 29th, Liu Wensheng, He Rusheng, and Fu Gongxiang began to act again. Liu Wensheng looked at the wind in the front, and Fu Gongxiang and He Rusheng went to the back to take specific actions. Everything went well, they entered the back eaves of the museum with the help of a large camphor tree, then cut the sliding gate with sea scissors, smashed the cultural relics cabinet, and stole the Western Zhou chimes numbered 0103 and 0792. Then he returned to the same way and handed over his things to Liu Wensheng.
Liu Wensheng and He Rusheng then went to Nanjing on April 1 with their stolen goods, but when they did not find a buyer, they returned and prepared to go to Xiangtan and other places to find the buyer. Fortunately, our investigators did not dare to be sloppy in the slightest, worked day and night, and carefully tracked down, and finally on April 16, they recovered two important cultural relics from the hands of cultural relics dealers, and sent them back to the Liu Shaoqi Cultural Relics Museum in good condition, returning to the two display cases!
And Liu Wensheng and the other three people, who are not good people, dare to covet the objects in the collection of the revolutionary martyrs' memorial hall, which can be described as bold, and they must be punished by law! This is also a typical lesson, which is a wake-up call for those who have ill intentions!
