When the red sea turtle is young, it has three towering ridges on the dorsal carapace, which gradually become invisible as it grows. Among the seven surviving species of sea turtles, they are medium in size and are the northernmost and southernmost species in the turtle family, and can be seen in the sea from temperate to tropical seas.
