EU Mutual Love Yunnan Low Carbon School Pilot Project Cycle: January 1, 2020 to December 31, 2023

The EU Mutual Love Yunnan Low Carbon School Pilot Project is funded by the European Union and implemented by the Espanyol Foundation (Mutual FullNess Member) in cooperation with the Yunnan Representative Office of the International Federation of MutualLy Man and Human Sports (Switzerland), the Yunnan Academy of Science and Technology Information, Southwest Forestry University, the (China) Youth Action Network on Climate Change, Green Kunming, and Yixing Public Welfare Community Development Service Center.

The project aims to increase the awareness and advocacy capacity of partners on issues of climate change mitigation and environmental protection. The goal is to establish a network of low-carbon schools in Yunnan Province, consisting of different types of schools such as kindergarten, primary school, junior high school, high school, secondary vocational education, and higher vocational education. Through a variety of colorful activities, trainings, conferences and other forms, we will promote the creation of low-carbon schools in Yunnan Province, and build a platform to promote cooperation and exchanges between schools, and ultimately improve the awareness of climate change among 70,000 students and teachers. At the same time, through the school emission baseline accounting, analysis and development of school emission reduction strategies, as well as long-term carbon neutrality plans, to support schools to implement carbon emission reduction work. Using science, technology, innovation and other means to respond to "climate action" to achieve sustainable development.

The project is supported by the European Union and the Fondation for Lovers and People (Spanish member).

Then, by letting the children dream of watching vivid silhouette animations, they arouse their awareness of protecting animals and protecting the environment.

Further, by displaying the entries of children around the world in UNESCO's "Nature and Art - Conservation of Biodiversity Global Art Competition 2021", children will learn how other children can contribute to biodiversity conservation by painting animals.

Primary school students are more likely to provoke students to think about their daily lives, from the aspects of food, clothing, housing and transportation, how to affect our planet. The students were given a lot of opportunities to think on their own initiative and then speak.

At the same time, Mr. Xiao Huang also introduced various art forms of environmental protection theme works in addition to painting, so that the students realized that the garbage in life can be transformed into works of art through their own small hands, which not only realizes the transformation of waste into treasure, but also can show and publicize the concept of low-carbon life and biodiversity conservation to more people.

In the face of middle school students, Dr. Wang Xinman strengthened the knowledge of climate change and guided students to think about what factors lead to climate change and the intensification of the greenhouse effect through the form of mind mapping. This further introduces the concept of carbon footprint and advocates students to practice low-carbon life.
