Favia is an Indian elephant who was forced to separate from herd at the age of 3. After entering the zoo, it is kept in a separate circle. Elephants are social animals, and a herd usually has a dozen to dozens of elephants, sometimes hundreds or thousands. Lonely elephants sometimes exhibit self-aggression behaviors such as biting themselves. Farvia suffered from depression after a long period of living alone, and the animal protection group tried to get her to another zoo to reunite with her kind, but ultimately failed.

In recent months, Farvia's health has deteriorated. On March 1, it fell to the ground and could no longer stand up and was eventually euthanized. Elephants generally live up to 70 years. A councillor in Córdoba called Favia an icon of the city, and its departure was a sadness for the whole city.
