For Chongqing, the "mountain city" is the immortal feature of the city, the whole city is surrounded by mountains, lush, and the "two rivers" running among the mountains are the city's business card.
Just as the so-called "near the water, built by the mountains", for the Chongqing people who are moistened by the two rivers, what really penetrates into the urban fabric and is engraved in the heart of the mind is the very characteristic waterfront: South Binjiang Road.

Seeing or not seeing
For design, the first question we faced was how the new space should be built to be involved in the original landscape. Instead of the usual practice of "destroy and rebuild", we want to create a landscape image in which the overall trend of the landscape and the mountain converge, creating a hidden from the sight of the building to the invisible of the building.
Therefore, the new spatial shapes are planned according to the mountainous terrain, and their contour lines are integrated with the original mountain shape.

看山&See the mountains
Following the contours of the space, we gently picked up the buildings, absorbing the dynamics and undulating scenery of the nearby mountains. In the white space, we inject metal sculptures, pure white with noble temperament, while natural stone veneers, pure with texture changes. This dynamic axis of river scenery, people can constantly feel the diverse scenery in the spatial sequence, and they can feel various dramatic changes in it and will not feel interesting. The idea of streamlined sinking ramps is not simply a high level of respect for nature.
We expect that through this continuous sinking method, people will walk along the walls of the building and walk around the courtyard of the building to reach the entrance of the building, providing enough time and space for the comers to transform their emotions. And this is similar to the way people walk in the mountains and forests.
看江&See the river
The intention of "mountain" is also reflected in the use of irregular blocks, the physical blocks at the entrance, the wall of the water feature is an organically arranged block, and the partition of the overhead layer is a more lightweight and flexible "virtual" block, and the interspersed use of the block runs through the entire building, making the original architectural space more varied.
At the same time, the design needs to consider how to preserve the tonality of the building, and we believe that the complete emptying of the front field and the gent lifting of the building are the best display. A large area of water features serve as a reflection of the building, and trees dotted with trees in the water serve as an auxiliary view of the building. The upper and lower spaces form a tandem whole, which enhances the fun and artistry of the space.
Let the design start from the beginning, calmly care for the steps forward, and blend in with the natural fading at the foot of the mountain.
In order to achieve this strategy, we use long lenses to continuously create dynamic scenes: a pure wood, complete footprint of the current concave green space, reshaping the order of green space; a continuous white stone clue, such as unfolding a plain long scroll, gently guiding the transformation of space, and lightly skimming over the dull underground passage; an undulating path that leads people from the city, hidden in the lawn, into the parking courtyard, through the arc screen reflection channel, gracefully reaching the mirror water surface that is gradually raised by the line of sight.
看天光云影&Look at the sky and clouds
A step, a river, a line of scenery, a tree, a road... Their geometric intervals are distributed on the white screen, summarizing the character of the entire project in the most concise graphic language, without more embellishment and color, extremely clean and neat.
Design can tell people where to go, but out of reverence for mountains and history, where should people go around?
