Cao Cangzhou Ancestral Hall is located in No. 4, Fanlian Lane, built in the late Qing Dynasty and the beginning of the Ming Dynasty, sitting north to south, the existing two entrances, the main buildings are the entrance hall, the Hall of Enjoyment and the East Wing, covering a total area of 420 square meters, with a construction area of 376 square meters. Cao Cangzhou (1849-1931) was one of the representative figures of the Wumen medical school in the late Qing Dynasty, known for his good treatment of wen diseases and authored books such as "Cao Cangzhou Medical Case". In 2002, caocangzhou ancestral hall was announced as a controlled and protected building in Suzhou. In 2020, the relevant departments will protect and repair the main building of Cao Cangzhou Ancestral Hall, repair and solve key problems such as girder damage, termite erosion, wood decay, etc., and according to the historical and cultural attributes of Cao Cangzhou Ancestral Hall, the initial plan is to rely on the context of Cao Cangzhou Traditional Chinese Medicine, on the basis of giving full play to the technical advantages of the "Wumen Medical School", close to the actual needs of "healthy life" in the new era, with ancient building relics as the carrier, aggregating traditional Chinese medicine elements such as medicinal materials, pharmacology, pharmaceuticals, and consultations, and turning them into a collection of medical display, intangible cultural heritage experience, The outpatient hall is a Chinese medicine theme cultural center. After nearly 10 months of transformation and design, at present, the Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine and the Institute of Intangible Cultural Heritage Processing Technology of Traditional Chinese Medicine built by Lei Yunshang have entered the final stage of the project.
The relevant person in charge of Canglang Street said that there are 13 former residences of celebrities in the district area. Since the beginning of this year, Canglang Street has collected information such as the situation of mansions, classic stories of celebrities' lives, and inheritance of descendants through interviews with celebrities, surrounding residents and cultural and historical experts, and made full use of the resources of street planners to set up an expert group with the planners of the area as the group leader, local history experts and ancient architecture experts as the team members, cooperate with relevant units to do a good job in information collection, ensure the orderly development of the project, and actively recruit enthusiastic residents in the jurisdiction, volunteers for the protection of ancient cities and community workers to form a volunteer special team.
