Recently, Lionsgate Pictures announced that Edgar Ramirez will join the game adaptation film "Borderlands", playing the villain Atlas, and foreign media IGN speculated that the character was the founder of Atlas Weapons. Atlas is a business magnate and arms maker and is "the most powerful man in the universe".
The Borderlands film was directed by Eli Ross, scripted by Craig Maxine, launched by Lionsgate, and executive produced by game company Gearbox Software. Kate Blanchett co-starred with Kevin Hart.
The plot of the Borderlands movie is about the notorious legendary thief Lilith (played by Blanchett), who reluctantly returns to her hometown of Pandora in search of the missing daughter of arms giant Atlas (Ramirez). Lilith teamed up with former elite mercenary Roland (Hart), 13-year-old demolition expert Tina Jr. (played by Ariane Greenblatt), and Little Noise (voiced by Jack Black) to find and protect the missing girl. This group of heroes will battle alien monsters and dangerous robbers, find and protect the missing girl – she may be the key to unimaginable power. Cosmic fate may be in their hands, but they will fight for more.
IGN said the official plot seems to be somewhat at odds with the game. In Borderlands, the player has never seen Atlas. In Borderlands 2, Atlas is under the control of Hyperion and Handsome Jack. In Borderlands 3, Atlas Company moved to Rhys.
