On August 15, sources at the Afghan capital, Kabul's Hamid Karzai International Airport, revealed that many senior Afghan government officials had arrived at the airport and were preparing to leave Kabul by plane.

CnN reported on Aug. 15 that sources at Kabul International Airport revealed to CNN that many senior officials, including Advisers to President Ghani, had arrived at the airport's VIP lounge.

The destination of the high-ranking officials is not yet known.

CNN quoted data from flight tracking websites as saying that earlier on the 15th, an Air India plane from Delhi, India, landed at Kabul International Airport, and an Emirates Flight from Dubai to Kabul abandoned its take-off mission.
