According to the "Times of India" news on the 29th, due to the surge in new crown cases, all kinds of medical services in India have fallen into a serious shortage. The US government advised its citizens on the 28th not to travel to India for their own security considerations, or leave India as soon as possible.
The U.S. Department of State's Bureau of Consular Affairs tweeted: "U.S. citizens wishing to leave India should immediately take advantage of existing commercial modes of transportation." There are currently daily direct flights to the US (India), as well as connecting flights via Paris and Frankfurt. The official U.S. State Department tweet also retweeted the message.
The U.S. Embassy in India said in a health alert: "New COVID-19 cases and deaths are rising sharply across India, constantly refreshing the highest numbers." Testing efforts have reportedly been restricted in many places. Several hospitals reported shortages of oxygen and beds. Because there are no beds, some U.S. citizens are rejected by hospitals in certain Indian cities. The report mentions that the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has issued a Level 4 travel warning, while the U.S. Department of State has also issued a highest level 4 travel warning.
In the past week, about 20 countries and territories have suspended flights for passengers from India or imposed strict entry rules on passengers from India. Some countries and regions do not allow visitors to India within 14 days, including Canada, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Germany, etc.
