Haibei Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, abbreviated as "Haibei Prefecture",

It is located in the northeast of Qinghai Province, the northeast of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, and the western edge of the Loess Plateau.

It is connected with Xining City, Haidong City, Haixi Prefecture and Hainan Prefecture,

It is bordered to the north by Gansu Province.

The total area is 34,068.44 square kilometers, and the population is less than 300,000.

It administers 3 counties: Qilian County, Haiyan County, and Gangcha County;

1 autonomous county: Menyuan Hui Autonomous County.

The Prefecture People's Government is stationed at No. 4 Tongbao Road, Xihai Town, Haiyan County.

Haibei Prefecture is located in the middle of the Qilian Mountains,

There are rivers, basins, hills, low mountains, mountains and high mountains,

It is divided into three geomorphological zones:

Qilian Mountain Plateau geomorphological area: four mountains and four basins;

Binhu geomorphological area in the north of Qinghai Lake: high in the north and low in the south;

Haomen River Valley geomorphological area: high terrain, diverse types.

The climate of the state belongs to the plateau continental climate: long cold period, short warm period;

There is plenty of sunshine and strong solar radiation; dry and wet seasons are distinct, rain and heat are the same season, and there are many nights of rain and high winds.

There are glaciers in the territory, and there are 61 large rivers,

Among them, there are 24 rivers of the outflow water system, 25 rivers of the inland water system of Qilian Mountain, and 12 rivers of the inland water system of Qinghai Lake.
