November 2 (China News Network) -- The Eight-Hundred-Mile Anhui River has become the main channel for Anhui people to go out of Anhui, and Shanghai has become an important destination for Anhui people to go east down the river. The reporter learned on the 2nd that the Shanghai cultural circles are compiling the "Anhui Zhishi in Shanghai" series of books (modern volumes).

Yang Guorong, chairman of the Shanghai Jiangnan Academy, who organized experts to compile and review the series of books, revealed on the same day that the plan is to explore the footsteps of the people of modern Anhui on the banks of the Huangpu River, sort out their important contributions to the urban development of modern Shanghai, and sum up their development experience in Shanghai in accordance with the principles of "Anhui figures, Shanghai geographical boundaries, and modern scope; selection of key points, establishment of biographies in batches, and booklets; and biographical examples, rigorous and popular, and rich in pictures and texts."

These modern Anhui heroes cover all aspects of politics, business, academia, art and other aspects, which are extremely representative and will surely cut into the historical depth and cultural breadth of the integration of the Yangtze River Delta from the perspective of individual characters. The editorial board of the series selected more Anhui historical figures such as Zhou Xuexi, Chen Duxiu, Hu Shi, Wang Mengzou, Chen Yannian, Chen Qiaonian, Tao Xingzhi, etc.; Gao Yuhan, Ke Qingshi, Yin Kuan, Chen Shaoyu, Jiang Guangci, Zhang Hexhui and many other historical figures from Anhui as candidates.

Xu Guangshou, vice president of Shanghai Jiangnan Academy and vice president of the Shanghai CPC Party History Society, pointed out on the same day that in the historical process of Shanghai's transition from "Southeast Zhuang County" to an international city, the figures and footprints of countless benevolent people in Anhui have been left behind. Entering a new era, Anhui has ushered in new development opportunities.

At the first meeting of the Preparatory Committee for the Compilation of the "Anhui Zhishi in Shanghai" series (modern volumes), Wang Yiqun, an adviser to Shanghai Jiangnan Academy, former deputy director of the Shanghai Municipal Local History Office, and a first-level inspector, believed that the selection of the characters in the series should be based on serious historical research and a more extensive discussion of the collection plan should be carried out; the review team of this book should join more experts, including Anhui Province, to listen to a wider range of opinions.
