The weapons and equipment of old China can definitely be called "made in all countries." In particular, the weapons used by infantrymen, from pistols to artillery, are various. There are many that are familiar to everyone, and there are also many weapons that are infrequently appeared or rarely appeared in old historical photographs. Today we will speak with old historical photographs, not engage in historical nihilism, and talk about the machine guns of old China that did not often appear in old photographs or were unpopular.
The following old photos are of the weapons and equipment of the Northeast Army captured by the Japanese army in the 918 Incident. There are a lot of unpopular machine guns in the photo.

1. American Colt M1895 heavy machine gun. Nicknamed the "Potato Excavator", it was designed by the famous gun master Browning and was the world's first machine gun to use the principle of gas conduction operation. A total of 25,000 pieces were produced and sold, and the United States, Russia, Britain, Canada, Central and South America and most european countries had equipment, and where Zhang Zuolin bought it is unknown.
2. Russian Maxim M1905 heavy machine gun. Modeled from the British Maxim machine gun, it was manufactured by the Russian Tula Arsenal. Equipped with a tripod with two small wheels and a shield. The barrel cooling water cartridge is made of brass.
Later improved models were named the M1910 heavy machine gun, changed to a steel water cylinder, and stamped stiffeners on the surface of the water cylinder. It was used during the War of Resistance.
3. French Saint. Etienne M1907 heavy machine gun. saint. Produced by the Etienne Arsenal (MAS), it adopts an 8*50R caliber, also known as the Lebel 8mm bullet. Single-D grip with trigger control. It was the main French machine gun at the beginning of World War I.
4. British Vickers M1912 heavy machine gun. Improved from the Maxim heavy machine gun, reducing the overall weight of the gun. It was the main heavy machine gun of the British Army in two world wars, and was not retired from service until 1968.
5. Austro-Hungarian (Czech) Skoda M1909 heavy machine gun. Using the 8 mm Manlicia bullet, it was the main machine gun of the Austro-Hungarian army in World War I along with the Schwarzrosser M1907 heavy machine gun. This gun was produced in small quantities, the performance was not advanced, much worse than the Schwarzlow heavy machine gun, and I don't know where Zhang Dashuai came from to find the surplus materials of the First World War.
The machine gun in the photo below was also very unpopular in old China. Rarely appears in old photographs. The soldiers in the photo should be the troops of a warlord in the north. Probably purchased from a foreign trading company.
6. German MG15nA machine gun. Designed and produced by the German bergmann company, using a 7.92 * 57 mm caliber, the cartridge belt of the general MG08 heavy machine gun. It was the equipment of the German Army in World War I.
The machine guns used by our soldiers in the old photo below rarely appear in other old photos. The owner of the photo said that it was her father who held the gun, and that the machine gun was bad and could not be fired, and that her father took it for a pose.
7. Italian Fiat M1926 heavy machine gun. Jointly designed and developed by Fiat and Levelli, it adopted a 6.5 * 52 mm caliber, 20 rounds of magazine feeding, after the Fiat M1928 and Beretta M1930 machine guns came out, it was withdrawn by the Italian army, a total of more than 2500 were produced.
This gun also appears in the old photos of the famous "Wild Goose Plume Team".
The thick machine gun on the shoulders of our soldiers in the old photo below is also a weapon that rarely appears on camera.
8. British Lewis M1916 light machine gun. The barrel is cooled by air cooling, and the outside of the barrel is an aluminum cooling sleeve, which cools the barrel inside the barrel by sucking in the air from behind the heat dissipation sleeve by the pressure difference generated by the muzzle shooting airflow. Adopting a 7.7 mm caliber, it was the main light machine gun of the British Army in World War I and was still used in World War II.
In 1940, guerrillas in Guangdong used Lewis machine guns
9. German MG08/15 machine gun. The Nationalist soldiers in the photo are using this type of machine gun. The gun is a slimmed-down version of the MG08 Maxim machine gun, inheriting the former's powerful firepower, but due to the use of a water-cooled barrel, the whole gun still weighs more than 20 kg. It was one of the main machine guns of the German Army in World War I.
In 1932, during the 128 Incident, the Nineteenth Route Army was equipped with MG08/15 machine guns, giving the Japanese a powerful blow.
10. Liao-17 light machine gun. The soldiers of the Eighth Route Army in the photo are placed next to the Liao-17 light machine gun, which is imitated from the Japanese "crooked handle" Taisho ELEVEN light machine gun, but has made major improvements. The magazine was changed from the left to the right, the stock on the right was changed to be in a straight line with the body of the gun, and the crosshairs and rulers were arranged in the center, and the man-machine effect was much stronger than the crooked handle.
11. German MG13 machine gun. The old photograph shows the Equipment captured by the Eighth Route Army on display on the training ground. In the lower left corner is the MG13 machine gun. The gun was successfully developed in the late 1920s, and in order to avoid the sanctions of the Treaty of Versailles, the model name was deliberately put in the front, making people think that it was an old gun. The No. 1 tank purchased by the Nationalist government from Germany and the SDKFZ221 and sdkfz22 reconnaissance vehicles were equipped with this gun, and the gun was used for infantry after the equipment was destroyed.
12. Soviet Makqin-Tokarev light machine gun. The photograph shows nationalist soldiers using the gun in 1939 in the Battle of Fuhe Area on the Nanchang Front. In 1926, the Soviet designer Tokarev reduced the weight of the Maxim heavy machine gun and simplified it into a machine gun, which was discontinued after the DP machine gun came out, producing a total of 2450 pieces, and sold 1400 to China during the War of Resistance.
Dian army using the Bergman M1910 water-cooled heavy machine gun
13. German Bergmann M1910 water-cooled heavy machine gun. The Gun used by the Dian Army in the photo. Using a 7.92 mm caliber, the bullet belt of the universal MG08, the German army in World War I was equipped in small batches. The MG15nA machine gun is an improvement on it. Where and quantity the Dian army bought it is unknown.
The gun mount of the MG08 is used in the picture, not the original gun frame
