The 6th São Paulo Chinese Film Festival opened

SAO PAULO, Nov. 1 (Xinhua) -- The opening ceremony of the 6th São Paulo China Film Festival was held online on November 1, and the 10 films that will be screened at this year's film festival tell the stories of hot topics and changing times in contemporary Chinese society.

The theme of this year's film festival is "Long Time No See", which not only means that the event overcomes many difficulties and reunites with the Brazilian people after two years, but also brings new works by directors who have participated in the festival before. The opening film on the 1st was Zhou Hao's documentary "Lonely Note", which premiered at the 24th Shanghai International Film Festival held in June this year.

Chen Peijie, Consul General of the People's Republic of China in São Paulo, said in her speech at the opening ceremony of the film festival that the cultural exchanges and mutual learning between China and Pakistan have deepened mutual understanding and friendship between the two peoples and have also become an important pillar for deepening Sino-Pakistani friendship. The COVID-19 pandemic cannot stop exchanges and cooperation, and such exchanges will increase the determination and confidence of China and Pakistan to continue to unite and cooperate and create a better life together.

The first São Paulo Chinese Film Festival was held in 2015. As a "public welfare cultural event" sponsored by Hanban and the Confucius Institute, the São Paulo Film Festival aims to introduce the more influential domestic films in recent years to Brazil. After the accumulation of the previous five editions, the São Paulo Chinese Film Festival has become an influential cultural event in the local area.
