It is understood that this military capability assessment is a structural and systematic assessment of peacekeeping forces conducted by the United Nations, involving many contents and covering a wide range, aiming to find out the strength and shortcomings of various peacekeeping forces and comprehensively test whether the Department of Peacekeeping Operations has the ability to complete peacekeeping tasks and effectively deal with various emergencies.

At 9 a.m., an assessment and inspection team composed of relevant personnel from 7 departments of UNIFIL went to the outpost, entered the warehouse, drilled bunkers, and visited the squad platoon, and through listening to reports, classified and consulting materials, random inquiries by counterparts, and on-the-spot inspections, conducted one-by-one checks on 117 items of personnel, intelligence, operations, training, and communications of our peacekeeping construction engineering detachment, and evaluated each personnel according to their posts.

According to Du Tingjun, head of the military group of the detachment, in order to ensure that it can pass the military capability assessment at one time, the detachment strictly compared with the standard operating procedures issued by UNIFIL, and carried out targeted preparatory work in four stages, such as planning and deployment, meticulous preparation, organization and implementation, and simulated assessment and inspection. In addition, the detachment also further standardized the work processes of engineering construction, emergency response, medical treatment, epidemic prevention and control in combination with its own actual conditions, and effectively improved the combat readiness level and task execution ability of the troops.

After all-element, all-post, and all-round inspection and evaluation, all indicators of the unit's military capability met the evaluation criteria, and passed the first military capability assessment after the deployment was put in place with excellent overall evaluation results. In the assessment feedback briefing, Lieutenant Colonel Zhang Yakun, the leader of the assessment and inspection team, commented: "We have a good mental outlook, complete documents and excellent professional ability, and we are worthy of being a shining business card of UNIFIL, and I believe that you can safely and smoothly complete the tasks entrusted by UNIFIL Command." ”
