On August 2, when a panel of experts on marine resources in the Andaman Sea visited Boon Kong Bay in Trang Province, Thailand, to collect jellyfish samples, they found a new type of box jellyfish, which is so toxic that if it touches more than half of the jellyfish's body area, it may die within 2-3 minutes.
At the end of 2016, the survey showed that there were 6 kinds of jellyfish in the waters of Trang Province, namely Hu Haifeng box jellyfish, Australian box jellyfish, Norbakka box jellyfish, sea spun jellyfish, spotted jellyfish, and leaf wrist jellyfish, of which box jellyfish contained high toxicity. In July this year, the jellyfish body shape in the waters of Trang Province has developed larger and the number has increased, but due to the larger winds and waves at sea during the rainy season, there are fewer tourists, and most of the injured are fishermen, and researchers will publish the results of the study in time to warn the public to prevent being stung by jellyfish.
