Girard-Perregaux Laureate Series Aston Martin Special Edition 13.5 million

Aston Martin has partnered with Girard-Perregaux to launch: The Girard-Perregaux Laureate Series Aston Martin Special Edition Chronograph, limited to 188 pieces, is priced at 135,000 yuan.

The watch features an octagonal bezel that pays homage to Girard-Perregaux's iconic Laureate model, launched in 1975. Its dial is covered with the classic 'Aston Martin Green', which has been painted twenty-one times to form seven clear colour layers. Fast forward to the beginning of the 20th century, when racing cars carried a variety of colours to distinguish the different nationalities of the team. For example, French cars are blue, While Italian cars are red, German cars are silver, and British cars are green.

Like other British brands, Aston Martin has green as its racing colour, most notably the Aston Martin DBR1 model, which won the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1959. From the champion car of the year to the Formula 1 car today, aston Martin's car color is still green. The design from the car also includes the use of cross-shadow lines, first seen in Aston Martin's "AM" logo (1921–1926), and the mezzanine seats of the British brand's high-performance sports car.

The hour and minute hands are semi-skeletonized to echo the design idea of the car's reduction of redundant materials. Similarly, the central chronograph second hand has a counterweight that resembles the side of the wheel hoop of the 1958 Aston Martin DB4 model. With a diameter of 42 mm and a case made of 904L stainless steel, the advantages over 316L stainless steel are higher corrosion resistance, better scratch resistance and a brighter appearance. The bracelet is also made of 904L stainless steel and is finished with a satin scrub.

There are three sub-dials on the dial, two chronographs and a small seconds. Each sub-dial features a semi-skeleton hand that continues the design of the hour and minute hands. The center of each subdial is decorated with a worm pattern, and the date is displayed at 04:30. A sapphire crystal glass on the back of the wrist provides a clear view of the GP03300-0141 self-winding calibre inside, which is the first time that laureato laurel chronographs have a transparent caseback.

The movement is decorated with torus and straight Geneva corrugations, with polished grooves and thermally crafted blue steel screws and pearl patterns. The movement also features an eagle motif, symbolizing that this is a movement created by the brand. Since the start of the cooperation between Girard-Perregaux and Aston Martin in early 2021, two joint watches have been launched, in addition to the Laureato Laureate Series Aston Martin Special Edition, there is also a limited edition of 18 pieces, priced at up to 1.083 million yuan Ofsanfeiqiao Tourbillon Watch - Aston Martin Special Edition.
