Hamilton on injuries: Shrinking schedules do affect players, habits are broken

author:Tiger Basketball

Today, former NBA player Richard Hamilton was interviewed about the frequent injuries of playoff stars this season.

Asked if the shrinking offseason and intensive schedules had caused frequent injuries, Hamilton said: "Yes, I agree. If you pay attention, this is the highest number of All-Star absentees due to injury during the playoffs in NBA history. This statistic should tell you something. And LeBron (James) tweeted before, 'Hey, due to the rapid start, shrinking the season, trying to schedule 72 games in a short period of time.' It really affects the players. Because we are so accustomed to our habitual schedules, if our routines are broken, sometimes that affects not only our bodies, but also our minds.

"I know I'm a guy who does everything the same way and I treat every game very regularly. If my routine is broken, it affects my performance on the pitch, it affects the way I approach the game, about when I rest, how I eat, it affects my performance on the pitch. I think we've also noticed that some teams have longer breaks, which is due to the situation in the rematch park, some teams are going to play more games, some teams are going to get suspensions. So I do think that affects the players a lot, like their timing and pace, and the injury impact that we're seeing. ”
