Writing in the Los Angeles Times, Chinese-American columnist Frank Xiong said, "There is a generation of Chinese Americans who grow up feeling alienated from their culture. Parents teach them to speak fluent, non-accented English and encourage them to integrate. They have learned to be careful to avoid trouble and tolerate racism because justice does not necessarily get done. Do their parents remember the massacre?
