According to the official website of the G20 summit, the Rome Declaration has a total of 61 articles, including joint efforts to combat the new crown epidemic, multilateralism, the global economy, anti-corruption, anti-gender violence and other aspects, and article 60 is part of supporting the Beijing Winter Olympics. The U.S. "Politics" website reported on October 30 that the main G20 members held fierce negotiations before the Rome Declaration. An informed diplomat said Beijing's request to include in the declaration that the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics and Paralympics are "symbols of human resilience and global solidarity in overcoming COVID-19," which the United States and Canada oppose. U.S. and Canadian officials declined to comment.

After the Rome Declaration, the IOC website quoted G20 support for the Beijing Winter Olympics, the Asian News Agency said. The economies of G20 members account for 85% of the global economy. During the G20 summit in Rome, some human rights groups reportedly encouraged a boycott of the Beijing Winter Olympics, but the Rome Declaration "sets the position for the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics."
