On June 9, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs issued an announcement that 154 wheat varieties were approved by the fourth meeting of the Fourth National Crop Variety Approval Committee, among which the new wheat variety "Sui 1615" jointly selected by the Suixi County Agricultural Scientific Research Experimental Station and Huaibei Shuang harvest seed industry Co., Ltd. and the new wheat variety "Sui 1309" selected by the Suixi County Agricultural Research Experimental Station were on the list.
Suixi County has the habit of planting wheat and unique regional advantages, planting more than 2 million mu of wheat all year round, and is a major grain producing county and a large county of national seed production. In recent years, focusing on solving the problem of "card neck" in the seed industry, the Suixi County Agricultural Scientific Research Experimental Station has actively explored new methods for rejuvenating agriculture through science and technology and a new model of station-enterprise cooperation, vigorously encouraged and supported scientific and technological personnel to go deep into the front line of agricultural production to carry out scientific and technological innovation, and made major breakthroughs in wheat breeding.
"Sui 1615" tillering force is strong, good toppling resistance, good disease resistance, the whole growth period of 222.4 days, the grain is full and uniform, the number of ears per mu is 384,000, the number of panicles is 36.8 grains, the weight of 1,000 grains is 42.3 grams, and the average yield per mu can reach more than 580 kg. The whole growth period of "Sui 1309" is 223.4 days, the seedlings are semi-creeping, the leaves are slender, the leaf color is dark green, the tillering force is strong, the number of ears per mu is 426,000, the number of panicles is 35.2 grains, the weight of 1,000 grains is 40.6 grams, and the average yield per mu can reach more than 590 kg.
The two new wheat varieties are suitable for early and medium-stubble planting in the plain irrigation areas of Henan Province except Xinyang City (rice stubble wheat area south of the Huai River) and parts of the southern part of Nanyang City in the southern part of the Huanghuai Winter Wheat Area, the irrigation districts of Xi'an, Weinan, Xianyang, Tongchuan and Baoji In Shaanxi Province, the area north of the Huai River and the Northern Jiangsu Irrigation Canal in Jiangsu Province, and the high school water and fertilizer plots along the Huai River and north of the Huai River in Anhui Province.
