According to the Interfax News Agency on July 28, 2021, the Sukhoi Design Bureau's new single-engine fighter Su-75 "General" will be built at the Gagarin Aircraft Factory in Komsomolsk-sur-Amur. The news was confirmed by Yuri Slusari, CEO of The Russian United Aviation Manufacturing Company.
The first prototype is said to be already under construction. Currently on display at the Moscow Air Show is a full-size model.

Komsomolskaya gagarin Aircraft Factory on Amur, formerly known as Komsomolsk-sur-Amur Aircraft Production Consortium (KnAAPO), is a member of the Sukhoi Aviation Group.
This aircraft factory has a long history, the Soviet era was numbered 126 factory, is currently the largest aircraft factory in Russia, located in komsomolskaya in the Russian Far East.
The Amur River is actually the lower reaches of the Heilongjiang River.
Komsomolskaya (Комсомольск на Амуре) was originally part of China and was ceded to Russia in the Treaty of 1858. In 1860, immigrants from Perm Krai established towns here. In 1931, the Soviet Union established a new city here, and because it was mainly the members of the Communist Youth League who participated in the construction, the city was named Amur Komsomolskaya.

The total production of industrial products accounts for 80% of the total production of various sectors of the national economy of the city and 40% of the total industrial output of khabarovsk krai. The largest share of the industrial structure is the machinery manufacturing industry, accounting for 57%, ferrous metals accounting for 10%, petroleum processing and chemical industry accounting for 12%.
Machinery manufacturing is the economic basis of Komsomolsk-sur-Amur, with nearly 40 production enterprises, including Amursk Shipyard, Komsomolsk Aircraft Manufacturing Consortium, Amur Steel Mill, Komsomolsk Petroleum Processing Plant, as well as wood processing plants, furniture factories, building materials factories, etc.

The current Gagarin Aircraft Factory is formerly known as the Komsomolskaya Aircraft Manufacturing Consortium. The plant's first products were the construction of R-6 reconnaissance aircraft for the Tupolev Design Bureau, and tens of thousands of fighters of various types were built in the following historical years.
In February 2006, under an executive order signed by Russian President Vladimir Putin, members of the Sukhoi Group merged with other major Russian aerospace, aerospace design or manufacturing companies to form the United Aviation Manufacturing Corporation.
The Gagarin Manufacturing Plant is one of the most successful enterprises in Khabarovsk Krai, Russia, and for many years has been the highest taxpayer in the region. The Gagarin manufacturing plant currently produces Su-27SM/SKM fighters, Su-30MK2 multi-role fighters, Su-35S fighters and Believ-103 seaplanes. At the same time, the Gagarin Aircraft Factory, together with the Novosibirsk Chekalov Aircraft Factory, also produces sukhoi-100 superjets. Of course, the latest fighter of the Russian Air and Space Force, the Su-57, is also a product of the factory.
