Zhuhai, August 8 (CnUS) -- A few days ago, Gaolan Customs conducted on-site quarantine of a batch of wood packaging of imported goods, and after sampling and laboratory identification, a quarantine pest -- rubber nymph (Xyleborus affinis) was detected from the batch of wood packaging. This is the first time that the quarantine pest has been intercepted in the wooden packaging of imported goods at gaolan port.
The shipment is a Malaysian additive, a total of 16,000 kg, supported by 20 wooden pallets bearing the IPPC logo. During the on-site quarantine, the customs officer found that the wooden card board had a large number of small worm holes, and after sampling and identification, the live rubber material beetle was detected. Gaolan Customs has carried out quarantine treatment of the goods in accordance with relevant regulations.
Listed in the "List of Quarantine Pests of Imported Plants of the People's Republic of China", the rubber beetle is a widely harmful forest pest, mainly through the drilling of moths to harm host plants, such as thorn trees, olive trees, monkey joy and other trees, lurking in the bark or xylem, strong fecundity, serious and long-lasting harm to plants.
