I recently revisited "Kikujiro's Summer", and many of the plots in it made me very moved.
The plot of "Kikujiro's Summer" is not complicated, it is about Koshino who lost his father at a young age, and during the summer vacation, he decided to visit his mother alone in the field, because of the long distance, the neighbor's aunt decided to let her husband accompany him on the road, that person is Kikujiro, the boy's partner on that journey.

While healing Masao, Kikujiro felt as if something had been touched in his heart, and looking at Masao's smile, he seemed to see his former self. On the way home, Kikujiro wants to visit his mother in a nursing home for the first time.
He didn't go in to see his mother, nor did he say a word to her, he just looked at her from a distance, but it was clear from his eyes that he had forgiven his mother.
During that visit, Kikujiro forgave his mother and reconciled with himself.
At the end of the movie, Kikujiro and Masao play hide-and-seek, going around, an adult and a child playing a child's game, and finally Masao says, I found you.
Kikujiro's Summer is Takeshi Kitano's warmest work, because it is also about himself.
Kitano was born into an ordinary family in Japan, his mother was an ordinary working woman who handled the family's large and small affairs, while his father was a craftsman, with a hot personality, who liked to drink and gamble, and every day in addition to work, it was a tavern.
Kitano's relationship with his father is very distant, and he even has a bad impression of his father, because he wrote in the book: "He is usually a timid rat, but every night when he comes home drunk, he will shake his fist at his mother." He worked hard every day, but I think the little money he earned was given to the tavern. ”
