On the morning of September 10th, the inauguration ceremony of the Cambodia Chaoshan Chamber of Commerce was held at the site of Olympia City in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, marking another new force in the Chaoshan Chamber of Commerce all over the world.
Representatives of Chaoshan Chamber of Commerce and enterprises from all over China attended the unveiling ceremony. His Excellency Qi Jinye, a member of the Cambodian Senate, General Mojido, Vice Minister of Public Security, Lord Zheng Mianfa, a well-known overseas Chinese philanthropist, President and Wife Chen Liehao, the founder of the Association, and Lin Weisong, Executive Vice President, jointly unveiled the plaque and announced the official establishment of the Chamber of Commerce.
The establishment of the Cambodian Chaoshan Chamber of Commerce coincides with the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Cambodia and the in-depth development of the China-Cambodia comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership, which has matched the economic, trade and cultural exchanges between China and Cambodia and promoted the development of friendship between China and Cambodia.
For a long time, the Overseas Chinese and Ethnic Chinese in Cambodia, with Chaoshan as the main body, have made great contributions to Cambodia's economic development. With the implementation of the "Belt and Road" in Cambodia has achieved good results, Cambodia's peaceful and stable political environment and rapid economic environment have strengthened the confidence and determination of chao merchant enterprises to invest in Cambodia, and in recent years, the number of chao merchants who have poured into Cambodia for investigation and development has been increasing.
Due to their unfamiliarity with Cambodia's regional environment and investment environment, many tide merchants have stopped and watched and have certain doubts about investment in Cambodia. In view of this, in early 2017, Cambodian tide merchants Chen Liehao and Lin Weisong, two township sages, conformed to the development trend of the "Belt and Road" and issued a call to establish the Cambodian Chaoshan Chamber of Commerce, which quickly received a positive response from 16 township sages such as Zheng Jianhai, Chen Xikun, Zheng Zepeng and Liu Shuguang.
On May 30, 2017, the preparatory group for the founding of the Cambodian Chaoshan Chamber of Commerce was established, and in October of the same year, the legal registration procedures approved by the Ministry of the Interior were obtained. After more than a year of meticulous preparations, the Cambodian Chaoshan Chamber of Commerce was finally inaugurated in September 2018.
Chen Liehao, president of the Cambodian Chaoshan Chamber of Commerce, said that the purpose of the establishment of the chamber of commerce is to unite the strength of chaoshan businessmen, unite the Chaoshan villagers in Cambodia, jointly contribute to the friendly relations between China and Cambodia, and actively participate in cambodia's economic and social development and construction.
According to the data, Cambodia is one of the main settlements of Chaoshan people overseas, about 80% of the Chinese in Cambodia are from Chaoshan and the Chaoshan merchants have a wide range of investment fields in Cambodia, covering the fields of iron and steel, real estate, building materials, new energy, agriculture, food processing industry, media, culture and education, import and export trade and other fields.
