Following the official launch of the "Emergence - Fan Yong Personal Photography Exhibition" on October 10 at the 3min Digital Museum in the hall of 9 stations of Kunming Rail Transit Line 4, the "Emergence" Art Salon was held on October 17, and Fan Yong, a national first-class stage designer and master tutor of Yunnan Normal University, shared a small story of shooting biodiversity on the spot. "This should be the first time this insect has been found in Yunnan," Fan Yong said, pointing to the giraffe weevil he photographed in Dehong.
The long-necked weevil is a beetle found on the island of Madagascar. It has a long neck and red carapace. In 2008, Russian wildlife photographer Nikolai Sotskov photographed this strange-looking insect on the island of Madagascar, with a long neck several times that of the body, which is somewhat similar to a giraffe, so it was named a giraffe. Fan Yong said: "I was looking forward to going to Madagascar one day to photograph this insect, but I didn't expect to find it in Dehong. This should be the first time this insect has been found in Yunnan. ”
Professor Tang Haitao of the Academy of Fine Arts of Yunnan Academy of Arts, Cheng Lu, Director of New Culture and Creativity of Beijing Urban Construction Design and Development Group Co., Ltd., Zhao Xiaole, General Manager of Yunwen Digital Technology, Li Yiming, Deputy Director of the Outreach Department of China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation, Su Haifeng, Chairman of Hengqu Group, and relevant responsible persons of Yunnan Nanjing Construction Rail Transit Investment and Construction Co., Ltd. attended the salon.
Fan Yong – Dialogue with nature
As the author of this exhibition, Fan Yong has accumulated rich experience in field shooting over the years, and with his profound artistic achievements, he focuses on expressing the rich natural resources and cultural environment of Yunnan, and pays attention to the beauty of the diversity of all things in the world. At the 15th meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity in 2021, Kunming, Yunnan, China, the "Emergence - Fan Yong Photography Art Exhibition" hosted by UCD New Cultural Creation came into being.
In addition to the environmental protection theme of "biodiversity", the choice of presentation sites and art carriers in this art exhibition is also quite ingenious. The exhibition avoids the "tall" art exhibition hall, and specially lands in the 3min digital museum of the 9 key station halls of Kunming Metro Line 4, and uses the digital screen of the station hall to scroll throughout the day to display photographic works, in order to highlight the "publicity" of this exhibition, that is, to promote "public art". Citizens can check in at the 9 stations of Line 4 North Railway Station, Juhua Station, Sujiatang Station, Haitun Road Station, Dounan Station, Guangwei Station, Niujiezhuang Station, Wujiaying Station and Xiangfeng Street Station, with a total of 36 exhibits, and the exhibition lasts for 45 days.
This exhibition is also the first exhibition of the theme of "3min Metro Digital Art Tour Season 1 Biodiversity", which aims to echo the beautiful vision and theme of "Building a Community of Life on earth" and "Harmonious Coexistence between Man and Nature" at the 15th Meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity (COP15), and to showcase the beauty of biodiversity in Yunnan, China through the exhibition, thereby strengthening the public's environmental protection concept and awareness.
In the exhibition, the stoprs can see the wild mushrooms of Yunnan in the deep soil, the greenery in the original dense forest, and the moving insects and birds in the flowers and trees, all of which are the products of Fan Yong's dialogue with the nature of all things - on the basis of being close to the customs and customs of Yunnan, the artist's personalized treatment is carried out.
After the salon, the organizer UCD New Cultural Creation held a strategic cooperation ceremony with Yunnan Cultural Investment Group Yunwen Digital Technology Company, Zhonglan Culture, China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation, and Hengqu Group, marking a successful exploration of art empowering business and art entering the public.
