But history is always unexpected — the real Wang Yangming, not only has the wisdom of a sage, but also fights a battle. It can be said that Wang Yangming is a down-to-earth man with both culture and martial arts and wisdom and courage.
In June 1519, Zhu Chenhao, the fifth grandson of Zhu Yuanzhang, the King of Ning, had the heart to rebel and rebelled.
In July, Zhu Chenhao led an army of 60,000 down the river to prepare to capture Anqing. Before sending troops, Zhu Chenhao left some of his non-commissioned officers and guarded his Nanchang base camp.
This King of Ning thought it was quite beautiful, but this decision finally put him on the road to eternal doom.
Wang Yangming, who was then the governor of Gannan Province, heard that Anqing was in a hurry, and hurriedly summoned the generals to a meeting to discuss strategies for retreating from the enemy.

If we immediately send a large army to support Anqing, we will be able to form a pinch with the defenders of Anqing, and the King of Ning will inevitably be defeated. At that time, it will be easy to capture Nanchang. ”
Under normal circumstances, this official's analysis is reasonable and well-founded, and indeed it is a good plan. Therefore, after listening to the official's analysis, the generals agreed one after another.
However, at this time, Wang Yangming retorted: "The general does not know, if we want to save Anqing, we must first cross Nanchang, the base camp of the King of Ning, and whether we can cross Nanchang is not mentioned for the time being, even if we reach Anqing, our army and the rebel army are evenly matched, and it is still unknown who wins and who loses." ”
"Moreover, after a long period of fighting, the defenders of Anqing must have been exhausted and may not be able to cooperate with us to form a pinch attack." At that time, if the rebels in Nanchang appear behind our army again and cut off our grain and wages, will our army not be attacked by the enemy on its stomach and back? ”
Of course, if Wang Yangming only ends here in his analysis, he may not be so clever. After all, a really powerful person can not only find problems, but more importantly, find solutions to them.
Therefore, Wang Yangming continued to analyze: "In my opinion, we can attack Nanchang first. After all, king Ning's main force had already gone to Anqing, and the defenders of Nanchang must be relatively weak. After our army launched an attack on Nanchang, king Ning would definitely turn around and support his base camp. In this way, the danger of Anqing will naturally be eliminated. ”
Speaking of this, the soldiers around Wang Yangming were deeply impressed, and just when they secretly gave a thumbs up in their hearts, they heard Wang Yangming continue to analyze.
"By the time King Ning returned to Nanchang with his army, Nanchang had already been captured by our army. The morale of King Ning's army is bound to be low, and at this time, the morale of our army is high, and if we make another effort and take advantage of the victory to pursue, we will certainly be able to quell the rebellion of King Ning in one fell swoop. ”
Until Wang Yangming finished talking about the problems he had discovered and the solutions to them, all the generals were satisfied and convinced, and unanimously agreed with Wang Yangming's plan - to take the lead in attacking Nanchang.
Who knows, just as Wang Yangming was preparing to lead his army to set off, there was another unexpected situation.
The reconnaissance cavalry came to report that the rebels who were guarding Nanchang had planted an ambush in the south of the city - if Nanchang was attacked, the ambush troops in the south of the city could be used as a surprise force to support the defenders in Nanchang.
When Wang Yangming heard this news, he immediately dispatched 5,000 cavalry, set out overnight, took the lead in ambushing, and secretly attacked the rebel ambush.

Everything was expected by Wang Yangming, and the same was true of Zhu Chenhao, the King of Ning.
Nanchang, as Zhu Chenhao's base camp, was stored in Nanchang for money, grain and other materials. When Zhu Chenhao heard that Nanchang had been captured, he was horrified and hurriedly withdrew his troops from Anqing and went up against the river, intending to rescue Nanchang.
But the tired King of Ning, where is Wang Yangming's opponent. After the defeat in the battle with Wang Yangming, Zhu Chenhao was still not satisfied, and ordered his soldiers to form a phalanx on the river to prepare for a protracted battle with Wang Yangming.
As clever as Wang Yangming, how could he be bothered by King Ning's carving insect skills? Just as Sun Liu's alliance in the Three Kingdoms burned Chibi, Wang Yangming turned King Ning's fleet into ashes as soon as he fired it.
Zhu Chenhao, the king of Ning, was also captured by Wang Yangming and sent to Nanjing for trial, where he was demoted to a shuren. At this point, Zhu Chenhao, as the fourth generation of Ning Wang of the Ming Dynasty, also became the last generation of Ning Wang.
In ancient times, being able to quell a rebellion was enough to make one's name famous for eternity and to make one's descendants worry-free.
But Wang Yangming's greatness lies not only in his strategizing and counting birds with one stone, but also in the fact that such a great achievement is still dwarfed by the "psychology" founded by Wang Yangming.
Some say that Wang Yangming was "the last sage in Chinese history." The so-called saints are not only high in realm and able to find problems that ordinary people cannot find, but also need to be able to turn the tide and solve problems with ease in the face of various emergencies.
From this point of view, Wang Yangming, who is both wise and courageous and strives to protect the Ming Dynasty, really deserves the title of "saint".
