What is the mesentery? Scientists have discovered that the human body "hides" new organs

On the 3rd day of 2017, researchers announced a surprising discovery: there is a "new" organ in the human body.

American media reported on the 3rd that Calvin Kofi, a professor at the University Hospital of Limerick, Ireland, first announced this finding, and the report was published in the journal "Lancet Gastroenterology and Hepatology".

In fact, this "new" organ has always existed in the human body, but everyone originally only regarded it as a scattered tissue. Located within the human digestive system, this organ has always been called the "mesentery" in anatomy, and is regarded as a double peritoneum that connects the intestine to the abdomen, a series of fragmented independent tissues.

Coffey's theory is that the mesentery is actually a single, continuous organ, but the function of this organ needs further research to be clarified.

Kofi's study has been peer-reviewed. He believes that studying this new organ may give people a deeper understanding of gastrointestinal diseases.

The Huffington Post website reports that the new findings have been included in the world-renowned textbook Gray Anatomy. (End) (Ocean)
