On June 6, the Institute of Plant Protection of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences urgently launched field and indoor experiments on the prevention and control of natural enemy insects such as cockroaches and insects, investigated and collected the species of natural enemies of the grassland night moth in China and assessed the control potential, providing technical support for the biological control of the grassland night moth by "treating insects with insects". (Science and Technology Daily)
Field experiments and indoor experiments carried out in Anning, Xundian, Mohei, Menghai and other places in Yunnan showed that the cockroach has a significant control effect on the grassland night moth. Both the fly bug and the beneficial bug can actively search for the grass moth, in 9 minutes can find and lock the pest, at a distance of 1 cm quickly launched an attack, the mouth needle into the grass night moth, suck the body fluids, and secrete anesthetics to cause prey paralysis, and finally the grass night moth due to loss of body fluid nutrition, tissue and organ damage in the body and death. Indoor measurements showed that each adult flying insect could feed about 25-30 2-year larvae of the grassland moth or 2-3 6-year larvae of the grassland moth within one day, and each adult of the beneficial bug could feed 28-41 2-year larvae of the grassland moth or 3-5 6-year larvae of the grassland moth within one day. detail:
