Huanglong Zen master taught Lü Dongbin of the Eight Immortals in Ezhou

Lü Dongbin's surname is Lü Mingwei (吕名巖), the character Dongbin (洞斌), the number Chunyangzi (Pure Yangzi), who calls himself a Hui Daoist. People of Yongle County, Tanghe Zhongfu. In his childhood, he already had Xian Daozhi, Mu Qing was vain and idyllic, and he was not good at decorating Fu Rong. Later, when he went to Chang'an, he met Zhong Lizu in a liquor store, and was inspired by a dream of Huang Liang, so he returned to the Daomen and was given the title of Pure Yangzi. It is to devote oneself to cultivating the Tao and promoting the Tao. Later, the Yellow Crane Tower in Ezhou soared in daylight. Quanzhen Dao is one of the Five Ancestors of the North. It is also one of the eight immortals of the legend.

I don't know if anyone knows that the Yellow Crane Tower in Wuhan was called The Ancestral Hall for a period of time during the Tang and Song Dynasties to the Republic of China. Why? Because it is said that Lü Dongbin once went to Ezhou in the early years of the Tang Dynasty to ask for immortals, everyone knows that before the Qing Dynasty, Geshan in Ezhou was a sacred place for Chinese Taoists, and according to historical records, Geshan in Ezhou was once the place where Ge Hong, one of the ancestors of Taoism, opened his furnace.

So later, all The Daoist disciples who were interested in cultivating immortals would go to Geshan mountain in Ezhou to seek opportunities, hoping to be able to ascend the Dao like their predecessors.

As a result, Lü Zulu Dongbin, one of our Eight Immortals, also flocked to Geshan in Ezhou to practice for several years, and in these years he also learned from Ge Xianweng, opening a furnace to refine Dan in the Ezhou territory, and helping the people in the Ezhou area to see a doctor.

One day, Lü Zulu Dongbin collected medicine and went to the Huanglong Mountain on the border of Ezhou, which is now the Huanglong Mountain on the guanggu road in Jiangxia District of Wuhan City, and met the Huanglong Zen master who was practicing on the mountain.

According to legend, this "Huanglong Zen Master" was a monk of the Tang Dynasty, and during the Tianyou period, the Huanglong Zen Master traveled to Huanglong Mountain in Ezhou (present-day Hubei), and the emissaries at that time helped him build a temple, and he was given purple clothes and given the title of Master Chaohui. He held a large altar in Huanglong Mountain, preaching the scriptures. Lü Dongbin once made a move with the Huanglong Zen master, and the Huanglong Zen master was superior, so that Lü Dongbin was convinced and converted to Buddhism.

It is said that at that time, Lü Dongbin passed through the Huanglong Mountain in Ezhou, and when he encountered the Huanglong Zen master ascending to the throne, Lü Dongbin went incognito to listen to the Fa.

At this moment, Master HuangLong closed the scriptures and said, "I won't talk about the Fa today, someone has stolen the Fa!" ”

Lü Dongbin immediately appeared and said, "Where do I have the theft law?" Monk, I ask you a question, how is it 'a grain of millet in the Tibetan world, half a liter of crotch boiled mountains and rivers?' ’”

Huang Long Zen Master pointed his hand at Lü Dongbin, "You ghoul keeper." ”

Lü Dongbin said back, "Anyway, I have the elixir of immortality in my bag." ”

As a result, Master Huanglong said, "After eighty thousand disasters, he will eventually die in vain." ”

Why? Because the immortals have not yet come out of the three realms (desire realm, color realm, colorless realm), the highest level of heaven in the colorless realm is called non-thinking and non-thinking, even if meditation has a lifespan of 80,000 catastrophes, after the end of life, it still has to be reincarnated, so Huanglong Zen master said "fall into the void and die."

Lü Dongbin was on fire at this time, and the flying sword slashed at the Yellow Dragon. Huanglong Zen Master lived in the realm of concentration, the flying sword did not hurt, he used his hand again, the sword fell to the ground, Lü Dongbin could not return, knowing that he had met a high person, he immediately saluted the Huanglong Zen Master and asked the Huanglong Zen Master to teach him.

Huang Long Zen Master took this opportunity to enlighten Lü Dongbin, saying that the principle of immortality and immortality is true. Lü Dongbin epiphanized about the Zen machine and wrote a poem:

Abandoning the scoop maple and breaking the piano, now I don't love water gold.

Since I first saw the Yellow Dragon, I felt that I had misbehaved my intentions before.

The first two sentences are said to travel the world, a scoop and a bag. Scoops are used for drinking water and begging for food, and sacs hold clothing. Even if Taoism ascends to the heavens, JinDan is only everything that "I" cultivate, not the true self, so what is the meaning of living in the world for a thousand years? "Since I first saw the Yellow Dragon, I have felt that I had misbehaved my intentions before." That is to say, after knowing Huanglong Zen Master, I realized that my previous cultivation was still in the six reincarnations, and I did not realize my nature of "not moving".

After being enlightened by the Huanglong Zen master, Lü Dongbin suddenly became enlightened, and then he took refuge in Buddhism under the Yellow Crane Tower in Ezhou at that time, and the double cultivation of Buddhism and Taoism was not only one of the eight immortals of Taoism, but also became the protector of Buddhism.

Some people will definitely be jealous and envious, immortals are what chances are there, Lu Dongbin converted to a Buddhist gate also to choose a scenic spot and monument Yellow Crane Tower to brush up on the sense of existence.

People who have this idea are very wrong, and history records that at the time of the Southern Liang, the Yellow Crane Tower once became a tomb. Nanshi Vol. 52 Liechuan No. 42 Liang Zong's Room Xia An Chengkang Wang Xiu: "Xia Kou was often a battlefield, and many skeletons were exposed, and they were buried under the Yellow Crane Tower. One night, hundreds of people went away in thanksgiving", which is also recorded in the Book of Liang, Vol. XXII. It is estimated that the concentration of hundreds of skeletons in graves is frightening. And our Lü ZuLu Dongbin took refuge in Buddhism here in order to suppress the evil spirits under the Yellow Crane Tower.
