Another masterpiece of "Made in Hebei" THE TV series "There is a Place Called Malan" will be broadcast on CCTV

On March 10, the TV series "There Is a Place Called Malan", with Huang Shan as the general director, Bai Shi as the chief screenwriter, and Song Yuncheng and Ma Jing starring, will be broadcast on the CCTV TV drama channel. Set against the backdrop of the most arduous pioneering stage of Our nuclear test base Malan from 1958 to 1964 (the first atomic bomb test was successful), the drama is based on the historical facts of the older generation of revolutionaries in our country taking root in the Gobi, and praises their lofty sense of responsibility and mission of caring for the destiny of the motherland.

The drama was jointly produced by the Propaganda Department of the Hebei Provincial CPC Committee, the China Nuclear Test Base, the Television Art Center of the Former General Armament Department of the Chinese People's Liberation Army, the Hebei Provincial Radio and Television Bureau, and the Hebei Film and Television Group Co., Ltd. The drama started in 2015 and landed on the golden file of Central Eight on March 10, 2019, and after four years of meticulous polishing, it is another masterpiece of "Made in Hebei".

"There is a place called Malan" takes He Yushan, director of the base security department, Xu Yuanzheng, commander of the engineer corps, Xiang Huaijin, director of a certain office of the research institute, and other characters as the main line, telling the legendary experience, dedication, sacrifice and emotional story of the commanders and fighters, scientific and technological personnel and their children of the Malan base in the desert of "no birds in the sky, no grass on the ground, no people in the thousands of miles, and stones running in the wind". In the play, Ma Jing played the female number one Lin Yujie, born in a large family, she gave up her superior living conditions, resolutely joined the army to go to the battlefield of the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea, and she saved the lives of many wounded people with superb medical skills, and also captured the heart of the male protagonist He Yushan. One is everyone's bridesmaids, the other is a battlefield mangy man, the two stumbled but they were very warm. After returning to China, they came to Malan together, and Lin Yujie used her youth to change Malan's barrenness and won the glorious title of "Malan Mother" with her day-to-day efforts.

The creation of the play is very rigorous, and the degree of reduction of the service is high. In terms of lines, the language of these old armies, such as "brethren," "commander," "officers and men," and "give me up," was changed back to the language of the people's army, such as "comrades," "commanders," "commanders and fighters," and "follow me," so that the audience could truly feel the language style of our army. The props used in the play are tents, bullet bags, medical equipment, scientific research equipment, etc. used in the Malan base; the costumes of the young actors are mainly small military uniforms and striped cloth costumes made of their parents' old military uniforms in the play; the actors' skin tones are also natural black on the Gobi Desert; the hairstyles of the actors, especially the hairstyles of the actresses, are strictly returned to the characteristics of that year, creating a sense of reality in that special era.
