General Secretary Xi Jinping stressed at the Central Talent Work Conference: "To do a good job in talent work, we must adhere to the correct political direction, continuously strengthen and improve the work of intellectuals, encourage talents to have a patriotic heart, forge ahead with the aspiration of serving the country, and take the initiative to assume the mission and responsibility entrusted by the times." "Political direction is the first issue of the party's survival and development, and it is also the primary issue of the development of talent cause." The key to adhering to the correct political direction lies in persisting in the party's management of talented people, focusing on serving the overall situation, and innovating and gathering talented people and using good recipes, so as to raise the banner and orient the work of talent in the new era and answer well the fundamental question of "for whom to train people, what kind of people to cultivate, and how to train people."

We should persist in managing talented people and set the general course of good talent work. The leadership of the Communist Party of China is the fundamental guarantee for realizing the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation. In the work of talented people in the new era, we must adhere to the principle of the party's leadership and the party's management of talented people; this is not only the principle requirement for the work of talented people in the new era to advance in the correct political direction, but also an inevitable requirement for our party to better implement the fundamental purpose of serving the people wholeheartedly. The party's leadership over talent work is embodied in the party's unity of talent around the party, so that talented people can consciously devote themselves to the cause of the party and the country.
