Take comprehensive measures to prevent and control the re-harm of ash bugs!

author:Qilin new plant protection official account

Ash beetle is the main type of mesophora and is widely distributed in China. It can harm a variety of garden plants such as Privet ash, water wax, cedar, citrus, camellia and grapefruit, and it is harmful to adult insects and nymphs sucking on the host branches, causing the tree to weaken, grow slowly, and even die of branches!

【1】Hazard characteristics of ash bugs:

Adults and nymphs suck on the host branches as a pest, the hatching nymphs parasitize on the leaves near the mother, and transfer to the branches after 2 instars, and the male nymphs secrete a large amount of white wax after fixation, covering the worm body and branches, and in severe cases, the entire branch is white rod-like.

【2】Occurrence and harm law of ash beetle:

The insect occurs in 1 generation a year, with fertilized female adults overwintering on the branches. In March of the following year, the female adult worms expand their pregnant eggs and begin to hatch in mid-March. Egg laying begins in early April, nymph hatching peaks in late June, and male adults feather in early October and die after mating.

【3】Comprehensive control measures for ash beetle:

1. Strengthen conservation management, strengthen the investigation of insect conditions, timely prune the insect branches and over-dense branches that are seriously damaged, and when there are more occurrences, the insect body can be removed with a brush.

2. Protect and utilize predators such as flower-winged jumping wasps, aphid-eating wasps, ladybugs and predatory mites.

3. Pharmaceutical control: you can use a bottle of Qilin Qihua with 300 kg spray prevention and control.
