"This is a project in the China-UAE Cultural Exchange Day at this World Expo." Li Huafei told Red Star News that the time was scheduled for the afternoon of October 29, with more than 20 display projects, such as Chinese Kung Fu, Chinese Tea Art, and Arabic Coffee. According to the process arrangement, Li Huafei needs to let the audience feel the charm of Chinese medicine in about 5 minutes.

Dressed in a Tang costume and fluent in English, Li Huafei introduced the audience to common TCM treatment methods, such as Chinese medicine, acupuncture, moxibustion and cupping. He also talked about the treatment of the sequelae of covid-19 in the fight against COVID-19.

Li Huafei was born in Guang'an, Sichuan, and now comes from a family in Chengdu.

In 2001, he graduated from the Department of Acupuncture and Moxibustion at Beijing University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and instead chose to stay in China, he went to the United Arab Emirates to practice medicine at the recommendation of a senior.

"In 2001, there were very few TCM practitioners in the UAE." Li Huafei told Red Star News that when he first arrived in the UAE, he first worked as a doctor's assistant and English translator at HuarenTang in Abu Dhabi. In 2005, he returned to China to study in the Department of Acupuncture and Moxibustion of the Affiliated Hospital of Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. After going to the UAE in 2006, he went to Dubai and obtained the independent medical license of the UAE Ministry of Health and the TCM physician license of the Dubai Health Authority.

After 20 years, Li Huafei has experienced the start-up and development of Traditional Chinese Medicine in the Middle East. Li Huafei introduced that local people who are reluctant to see Western medicine and eat Western medicine will try Chinese medicine with the mentality of trying it, because the efficacy is good, word of mouth is passed on, and word of mouth has been established.

Driven by Li Huafei and a group of TCM physicians who are mainly young and middle-aged, with academic qualifications, English and good clinical experience, TCM is becoming more and more popular in the UAE. Li Huafei said that about 95 percent of his patients are foreigners, and only 5 percent are overseas Chinese. There are also more and more TCM practitioners in Dubai, with about 40 at the moment.

Li Huafei told Red Star News that because the UAE has not opened up the integration of traditional Chinese medicine and Western medicine, Chinese medicine practitioners in Dubai rely on pure traditional Chinese medicine to practice medicine, and it is precisely because of this that people can see the real efficacy and value of Chinese medicine.

Being able to appear at the Dubai World Expo this time made him feel the value of promoting Chinese medicine overseas as a Chinese, "I feel very proud and honored." ”
