A diagram of the lifting and lowering of the human body qi machine, simply understand the "circle theory" of Chinese medicine

author:Dr. Dongpo

In the basic theory of Chinese medicine, we understand that the movement form of qi in the human body is divided into four basic forms: rising, descending, outgoing and entering, the temper rises and the stomach rises, the liver qi rises and the lungs drop, and the heart and kidney intersect, which is the law of lifting and descending of the qi of the internal organs. The following figure is a human body gas machine lifting and lowering diagram, which was invented by the Qing Dynasty physician Huang Yuanyu "circle theory". He believes that the operation of the human body's qi machine is inseparable from the movement of this circle in the picture, when a certain link in the circle has a problem, the circle cannot be turned, and people will get sick. When we have understood the basic theory of Chinese medicine, we can easily understand this picture, and we will describe it in detail below.

A diagram of the lifting and lowering of the human body qi machine, simply understand the "circle theory" of Chinese medicine

In this picture, the heart and lungs are on the top, which should be lowered; the liver and kidneys are on the bottom, and should be raised; the spleen and stomach are in the middle, which is the hub of the lifting and lowering of the organ qi machine. The upper one is right, the lower one is left, that is, the left rises and the right goes down. With the spleen and stomach as the axis, the temper rises to the left, and the qi of the liver and kidney rises with the temper; the stomach qi falls to the right, and the heart, lung, and gallbladder decrease with the stomach qi.

From the bottom up, the kidney yang transpires the kidney water to help the heart yin (heart and kidney intersection), not to be overheated; at the same time, the kidney yang warms the spleen soil, so that the temper rises, not to the spleen is weak and sleepy; the liver rises with the spleen, the temper rises, and the liver qi rises with the temper.

The qi of the liver, spleen and kidneys rises to the top, to the heart and lungs. In the upper should be lowered, the heart fire should fall warm and warm kidney yin; stomach qi drops, bile also falls with stomach qi; the lungs are at the top, the main supplication, lung qi must also be lowered, in order to help the heart, stomach, and gall qi to fall.

If the gas engine runs like this picture, the human body will not have problems. If you are sick, you may wish to refer to the symptoms to see what is wrong.

Huang Yuanyu's medical case has many cases diagnosed according to this picture, giving one simple and easy-to-understand example.

One patient suffered from a disease called "wheezing," somewhat similar to asthma; when he was sick, he opened his mouth and raised his shoulders to prevent breath, and his throat made a harsh sound. This patient is prone to illness in the autumn and winter and on rainy days, first sneezing, then runny nose, and then choking on the throat and breathless. The cause was that when I was eating one day more than ten years ago, I was startled by a cat that fell from the eaves, and then I became ill, as short as two or three days, and as long as ten or twenty days.

It is easy to find that this is a symptom of the inverse of lung qi, that is, the lung qi in this picture does not drop. Huang Yuanyu continued to understand and learned that this patient also had symptoms of bloating and vomiting. Therefore, the cause of his lung qi not falling is that the spleen soil is trapped by water wetness, the spleen is transported, and the temper does not rise and does not move, which will cause food to be blocked in the stomach and will be bloated, and the stomach will vomit. Stomach qi does not drop, lung qi is naturally blocked and can not be lowered, so it will be wheezing. The time of onset is also easy to understand, autumn and winter is the high incidence of lung disease season, rainy days are because of heavy humidity, eat more because of heavy stomach burden.

The formulas he gave were: Poria, Banxia, Dried Ginger, Fine Spices, Orange Peel, Cinnamon Sticks, Sand Kernels, And Licorice.

Among them, Poria is damp; half-summer is dry and wet, medicinal downward, lowering stomach qi; dry ginger is warm and cold, warm spleen and kidneys, helping to dispel dampness; fine spices dispel wind and cold, medicinal dryness; orange peel cough and reverse, healthy stomach, dry and moist phlegm; guizhi thin liver warm liver, increase liver qi; sand kernel wet warm spleen appetizer, gastric qi; licorice to replenish temper, reconcile various medicines.

We look at this formula, only the orange peel is cough-relieving, and the rest are toning the spleen and stomach. The idea is to first get rid of the dampness and let the temper rise, cooperate with the warm kidney and liver to help the temper rise, and then lower the stomach qi, so that the lung qi will not be blocked. The spleen and stomach problem is cured, the stomach qi is reduced, and the problem of the reverse of the lung qi is naturally solved. Sure enough, after taking more than a dozen doses, he never had a seizure again.

Huang Yuanyu's "circle theory", to put it bluntly, is to tell us that the functions of each organ are mutually influential, through this map it is easy to find the real problem point, of which the spleen and stomach is the hub, the two of which a rise and a drop is the most important link, many problems can be solved by conditioning the spleen and stomach.
