With Mr. Yan in front, I feel that life is like climbing a mountain, although the road is rough, but there is a clear purpose in the front and a huge support in the back, which makes me feel worthy of this life.

After sixty years of studying with Mr. Mu Guang, I have often realized that Mr. Mu Guang has guided me to work and made me climb with far-reaching scientific foresight, and he has supported me, helped me, and congratulated me on my success.
The drizzle is silent. He never takes a stance lightly, never gives in, never talks about it, and never abandons the established propositions. With Mr. Yan in front, I feel that life is like climbing a mountain, although the road is rough, but there is a clear purpose in the front and a huge support in the back, which makes me feel worthy of this life.
In the late 1920s, when Mr. Yan was in France, he went to the Curie Laboratory of the Institute of Radium Studies of the University of Paris, and had a close relationship with Mr. Zheng Dazhang, who was studying in the room. In the winter of 1933, Mr. Zheng obtained his doctorate under the auspices of Marie Curie and returned to China the following spring. At that time, Mr. Yan was the director of the Institute of Physics of the National Peking Research Institute, that is, the Institute of Radium Studies was established under the Peking Research Institute, and Mr. Zheng was hired as a researcher and Mr. Yan was appointed as the director, and the first radiochemistry research work was carried out in China.
In the summer of 1934, Marie Curie died. The Japanese militarists invaded North China, Peiping was stormy and rainy, and China's radiochemical work developed under extremely difficult conditions. It was the autumn of that year when I first arrived at the Radium Institute to study radiochemistry under the guidance of Mr. Yan and Mr. Zheng Liang. At the beginning of 36 years, at the behest of Mr. Yan, I went to Shanghai to build a radiochemistry laboratory under the name of "Institute of Radium Studies of Sino-French University". In 1937, the July 7 Incident japanese army invaded China, Mr. Zheng was trapped in Beiping, Mr. Xingyan sat in Kunming, commanded Ruoding, Mr. Zheng escaped from the heart disease and went south to Shanghai to resume and guide our radiochemical experimental research work.

In the spring of 1940, the Shanghai "Zilinxi Bao" disclosed that the phenomenon of uranium fission had been discovered in Europe, and the prospect of human use of atomic energy was gradually promising.
The French Concession in Shanghai, where we are located, has become a fall from an isolated island under the armed occupation of the Japanese army, Mr. Zheng Dazhang's heart is exhausted, and he unfortunately died of illness in Suzhou, and the situation of radiochemical research is even more difficult, while Mr. Mu Guang's support for radium from Yunnan is still endless.
The Japanese army was defeated and surrendered. In the winter of 1945, Mr. Mu Guang returned to Shanghai from Kunming to Beiping. In the early summer of 1946, I suddenly received a letter from Peiping to Professor I. Joliot-Curie of the Curie Laboratory of the Institute of Laser Studies of the University of Paris on April 2 of that year, saying: She supported my application to the French National Center for Scientific Research for public funds, thinking that I could get the treatment of a surrogate researcher, and would gladly accept me to the Curie Laboratory and so on. So I arrived in Paris in early 1947 and entered the Curie Laboratory.
Actually, I didn't apply. Many years later, I learned that I could go to Mr. Fanaiyan at the public expense of the French Scientific Research Center to initiate a recommendation to Mrs. I. Joliot-Curie, and then wrote to Comrade Qian Sanqiang, who was already working in the Curie Laboratory at that time, to ask him to be nearby. Mr. Mu Guang never mentioned this matter directly to me.
Fortunately, it is not a disgrace to life. In the autumn of 1951 I will return to my homeland out of friendship with the Chinese people. Mr. F Joliot-Curie, then President of the World Peace Council, sincerely told me: "When I return to China, please convey to Chairman Mao Zedong that you must oppose the atomic bomb in order to defend peace, and if you want to oppose the atomic bomb, you must first have the atomic bomb yourself." The atomic bomb was not so difficult, and the principle of atomic energy was not invented by the Americans. "I went to Beijing to tell Comrade Qian Sanqiang about this golden speech and transferred him to the relevant leadership of the state.
On October 16, 1964, China's first nuclear test was successful.

Sooner or later, China's atomic bomb test will be successful, and China will do its utmost to make its due contribution to China's nuclear cause. However, Mr. Yan Muguang's advocacy and support for China's radiochemistry foresight has had a great impact, and some experts believe that the heartfelt words of Mr. Joliot Curie from Paris have advanced China's entry into the ranks of nuclear powers by several years.
The scenery stops. Mr. Yan Muguang's meritorious deeds in advocating and supporting the development of the discipline of radiochemistry in China will always be remembered in my heart.
