I don't know if I counted as the "original party" of "Dune", because at that time I heard that there was a movie to be on, and the original book had a very high status in the history of science fiction, so I went to read the book.

The Dune novel is good and sleepy for me, and I like the worldview, story line, and ecological theory in the original book, but the author's writing style is too hypnotic. Let's put it this way, the male protagonist in the book often dreams, and I have more dreams when I read the book than he does.
After reading three novels, I finally waited until the movie was released, and I thought it perfectly restored the atmosphere of the original: it was good to see and good to sleep. Don't think this is a "science fiction blockbuster", in fact, this is an anti-climactic philosophical literary film. I particularly liked it but I don't think it is suitable to recommend to everyone. And this is the first film in the series, if you are not used to this kind of shooting, you will feel that the whole plot structure is very strange.
Advantages: The original work has a high degree of restoration, a grand world view, a beautiful scene, an epic sense of soundtrack, a high value of sweet tea, and many familiar faces.
Biggest Easter egg: Zhang Zhen's section.
Cons: No 3D required. The few people sitting around me cleared their throats all the time, frightening me to squeeze my masks from time to time, and I always felt that the new crown virus was in the air.
When I watched the movie, I felt very much like the planet's version of "A Song of Ice and Fire", and after checking it, I realized that Martin himself bluntly said that he was influenced by this work. It also reminds me of The Matrix, but Phantom Blue says that messianic plots may all be derived from Jesus. There is also "Virgin and Child" in this part, which is even more similar.
The rodent that appeared in the movie was very exciting to see, because my undergraduate thesis was to analyze the diversity of the three-toed jerboa. Just looked up the picture and it seems to be a long-eared jerboa?

Because the ears of the three-toed jerboa are relatively small – you can't blame me for admitting it, because I only saw it at the time... It's the liver.
