Recently, Mr. Yang, a citizen, reported through the Beijing 12345 citizen hotline that there is a small dragon river in the east of Xizaolin Village in Daxing District, which always emits a pungent odor, and nearby villagers dare not open windows. Why does the water of the Xiaolong River emit a foul smell? Is there any private discharge nearby?
On October 25, the reporter came to Xizaolin Village, along the river embankment road on the edge of the village, all the way to the south, and saw that there was not much water in the Xiaolong River, about one meter deep, and the water body as a whole was yellow-green. Pedestrian walkways have been built on the east side of the river, but not many people walk along the river.
Villagers: It's all stinky water, dirty water, itself is anti-smell, the smell of choking the nose. As soon as we passed over there, we pricked our noses and smelled.

Xizaolin Village is located in Weishanzhuang Town, Daxing District, and the Xiaolong River in the east of the village originates from Qingyuan Park in Daxing District and joins the Dalong River in the north of Baitazha, Anding Town, with a total length of about 30 kilometers. The reporter saw at the scene that the Xiaolong River in the east of Xizaolin Village is in a north-south direction and is about 550 meters long. After reaching the mouth of the village, the river turns from north-south to east-west, and at the bend, the water flow becomes smaller, and there are obvious white floating objects on the surface of the water, and there is a faint smell coming from the water.
Villager: The river may be that the water in Xizhuang is drained into it, and there is also domestic water, which does have a taste.
Villagers: It is not industrial, basically the sewage in each village plus the water in the septic tank, without secondary treatment, the sewage is mixed into one piece, and it is directly discharged into the ditch.
Villager: It turned out to be a blatant row into the river, now I don't know whether it is a dark row or how, plus it is cold, the taste is smaller, and the summer is indeed quite large.

Then the reporter walked upstream along the Xiaolong River for five or six hundred meters, and did not see any pipes to discharge sewage, only to see a few villagers carrying buckets to pour dirty water into the river. Villagers say the river stinks particularly badly in the summer, and villagers close to the river don't even dare to open windows for ventilation. As the weather cooled, the smell of the river decreased, but there was still an intermittent odor, which was more pronounced at night. On the east side of the Xiaolong River is the West Stream Road that villagers must pass through to get out of the village, and the villagers will be accompanied by a pungent smell when they pass by.
Villagers: They don't dare to open the windows, especially in the summer, and the smell is drilled into the house. We're right next to here, and it smells great.
Villager: The river is sometimes yellow, sometimes gray.
Villager: Dirty water definitely smells, it smells from upstream. Riding from there, the smell is very pungent.

Where did the stink in the Little Dragon River come from? Is there a situation of private discharge? The reporter contacted the Daxing District Water Bureau in this regard, and the other party said that after on-site verification, no domestic sewage and industrial water were found to be discharged illegally. After preliminary analysis, the odor of the water body in the river is due to the frequent rainfall this year, the longitudinal slope of the river is slow, and the rainwater accumulation time is long.
In response to the sewage in the Zaolin Village section of the Xiaolong River, the Daxing District Water Bureau has urged the Weishanzhuang town government to step up pumping and complete the pumping of sewage on the evening of October 30. In the later stage, the District Water Bureau will organize river chiefs at all levels to strengthen the daily inspection and maintenance of the river to ensure the smooth drainage of the river.
