The release time of "Mission Impossible 6: Total Disintegration" in the mainland was a full month later than that of July 27 in North America, and it was officially released on August 31 after stepping on the tail of the summer file. This did not affect the expectations of audiences for this action masterpiece, which in 148 minutes has undoubtedly won the best secret agent movie in recent years.
The history of secret agent films is long, and some classic series are still constantly launching new works, such as "Mission Impossible", "007", "Spy Heavy" series. But at present, more agent films are deconstructing the core of the classic series, mocking and spoofing, emphasizing the combination of comedy and action, such as the "Ace Agent" series, "Ace Spy: Greensby", "Secret Agent", "Female Spy" and "Ace Bodyguard".
In such films, the agents do not necessarily show strong action ability, and high-tech equipment and funny coincidences are the most important means of expression. The traditional classic agent will even become the object of its imitation, as for the result, how funny and how to come.
As one of the representative works of traditional secret agent films, the "Mission Impossible" series has been completely familiar to the audience. The villain is destined to be defeated by the protagonist, Ethan played by Tom Cruise will definitely complete the task at the last second, and there are several thrilling scenes that must be necessary, running several major cities around the world, plus car chase scenes, fight scenes, these elements are neatly coded in more than two hours, which constitute the framework of the film.
For a large-scale commercial film like the Mission Impossible series, the real difficulty is to continue the framework after a few films and create more new points to attract audiences.
In Mission Impossible 6, the framework hasn't changed, and Ethan is still taking on a mission at the beginning of the film, gathering a partner, and then completing the task. The real point of view is buried in the thrilling process.
"Mission Impossible 4" climbed the Burj Khalifa with bare hands, "Mission Impossible 5" pickpocketed the plane with his bare hands, and Atang Ge's real-life thrilling shots became the core of every "Mission Impossible". In "Mission Impossible 6", Atang Ge used 106 exercises and test jumps to become the first actor to complete HALO skydive (ultra-high skydiving, ultra-low altitude parachute) on the movie screen.
HALO skydiving refers to skydiving from an altitude of 25,000 feet (7,620 meters) and at a low altitude below 2,000 feet (609.6 meters). This is an Air Force parachuting technique used to evade detection and secretly sneak into foreign territory. As Brother Atang said in the film, such a skydive must wear a full set of equipment and open the umbrella under the prompt of computer voice, otherwise "your leg bones will pierce your head"
What is even more rare is that when Brother Atang jumped out of the cabin, he was still filmed in a long shot, and the audience could clearly see the whole process of preparing, running and jumping off the plane on the plane. The thrill conveyed is much higher than the shots shot in the green screen of the studio.
Brother Atang's adventure is not only that. The motorcycle chase under the Arc de Triomphe in the heart of Paris, the high-altitude chase in London, and the final helicopter chase are all enough footage to make the audience adrenaline soar. Although there have been countless similar shots in other action films, in terms of the quality of completion, "Mission Impossible 6" is undoubtedly the highest category.
"Mission Impossible" has always been an important backing for Atango, but in "Mission Impossible 6", only Benji, played by Simon Peggy, and Luther, played by Vin Remus, appeared, and William, played by Jeremy Rayner, who played a big role in the first two films, did not reappear, replaced by Angus, who was forced in by the CIA.
Originally, Banji and Luther were not combat agents, proficient in computers, the Internet and other logistical support, and the weakness of fist and foot kung fu also made them a weakness in the group operation. However, in "Mission Impossible 6", their action scenes have been much more than in the previous ones, fighting and shooting with the enemy as much as possible, showing the responsibility of real agents.
The new agent, Angus, is played by Henry Cavill. Perhaps to distinguish his superman in the DC Cinematic Universe, he not only wears a thick beard, but also often appears as an image with well-developed limbs and a simple mind.
Henry and Atango jointly present the most interesting fight scenes in the whole film, and the two fight with the terrorists who call themselves Rak in the bathroom. The rak is played by Chinese action director Liang Yang, who won the runner-up of the National Wushu School Competition in 1995 and was a member of the Heilongjiang Acrobatic Troupe, which he founded in London in 2009. He single-handedly beat the two agents to the north, and when he was about to win, he was shot by Irsha, played by Rebecca Ferguson.
The Angus rebellion became the ultimate culprit, the biggest reversal in Mission Impossible 6. The film plays the concept of plot reversal to a very high level, breaking through the simple and rough of ordinary action movies. In addition to Angus, there is also the White Widow, who built a black market trading platform but eventually chose to cooperate with the government, and there is also a "Mission Impossible Group" and the CIA that do not trust each other and set up a situation for each other.
At a tense pace, the 148-minute Mission Impossible 6 doesn't have any urine spots. The only problem may be that director Christopher McQuarrie has collaborated with Tom Cruise in many films, he is better at showing the personal strength of Atango, the portrayal of the team and the portrayal of the villain is still little to be strengthened, the cooperation between the Mission Impossible squad in the film is relatively superficial, and the performance of the big villain Angus before and after the exposure is not strong enough.
With a tense story and excellent live-action footage, Mission Impossible 6 is undoubtedly the best-looking agent movie produced by Hollywood in recent years, and there is no one.
