However, after all, Zhu Yunjiao's experience was still shallow, and the influence on a series of factors such as ruling, employing people, establishing rules and regulations, and making decisions caused his uncle Zhu Di to destroy Emperor Yunjiao under the banner of "Qing Jun's side".
Regarding the final fate of the Jianwen Emperor Zhu Yunjiao, there are three most widely circulated theories:
One is to become a monk, the second is to burn the palace and destroy itself, and the third is to become a monk. In fact, since Zhu Di attacked the palace, Zhu Yunwen's end was nothing more than two: either flee or die. Of the above three theories, the most widely circulated is that Zhu Yunwen died by self-immolation, and after Zhu Di led the Yan army to break the city, Emperor Jianwen was full of ashes and wanted to die. At this moment, the young overseer Wang Yu took out a treasure chest left to him by Emperor Taizu, which contained three pieces of monk's robes, a razor, ten platinum ingots, and a suicide note, and wrote: "Emperor Jianwen came out of the ghost gate, and the others walked from the Shuiguan Yugou and met in the evening in the west room of the gods." Emperor Jianwen then cut his hair and became a monk, burned the palace with a fire, came out of the secret passage, and from then on left Zhu Yuanzhang's ancestral inheritance and left home. But Zhu Di did not believe that the charred black body that the eunuch pulled out of the burned corpse was Zhu Yunjiao. Since then, Zhu Di searched for the whereabouts of Emperor Jianwen for 16 years, and did not find the whereabouts of Zhu Yunjiao until Zhu Di's death.
In fact, I personally feel that with the various performances of Zhu Yunzhuo during his reign and the policies he implemented, even if he fled the palace at that time, he would later assemble the old departments that were now at odds with Zhu Di's political views to overthrow Zhu Di, which would give Zhu Di the opportunity to completely eliminate Zhu Yunjiao. Moreover, when Zhu Di besieged the imperial palace, with Zhu Di's strength and Zhu Di's ability after he came to power, it was impossible to find Zhu Yunjiao for more than ten years. Therefore, I personally feel that Zhu Yunjiao's destination is actually one of the burned corpses, and it is not Zhu Yunjiao who was burned, Zhu Di, in order to ensure the stability of his political situation, must have been secretly executed by Zhu Di after he came to power, and the claim that Zheng He went to the West in later generations is actually looking for Zhu Yunjiao, but it is just a rumor, and we prefer to believe that the real purpose of Zheng He's going to the West is to publicize the prosperity of his reign and publicize the merits of diplomacy during Zhu Di's reign.
